Get this song out of my head please!
« on: June 25, 2006, 11:52:39 am »
I've got this darn song stuck in my head and it will not leave.

"They took the whole Indian nation
locked us on this reservation.

Took away our way of live
the tomahawk and the bow and knife.

Took away our native tongue
taught their English to our young.

And all the bead we made by hand
are nowadays made in Japan."

It just keeps playing over and over!   >:(

Does this ever happen to you?

Lord, someone take this song out of my head!

First of all, Id reccomend changing your radio station.  That is one TIRED old song.
Although I'm reminded of a T shirt I saw when I visited a Native art& Jewelry store in Wyoming last year...
It had several Native men on horseback with rifles and lances and read
The Original Dept. of Homeland Security

....Protecting America since 1492

kinda makes you think.

"Indian Reservation"

originally recorded by Paul Revere & The Raiders

I usually hate that also, it happens when someone at work sings a song....I usually have to immediately plug my ears...because I don't want to have to relive it the whole day
  :D
If you think your lonely now, wait until tonight.

Here Rocky maybe this will help...."Half Breed" by Cher

                            Half-breed, that's all I ever heard
Half-breed, how I learned to hate the word
Half-breed, she's no good they warned
Both sides were against me since the day I was born

REPEAT CHORUS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVERHal
(who never teased his little sister)

That happens to me sometimes with mixed results. Usually the offending song drives my crazy although drive is no longer correct, a short walk gets me there now. The only way I can break the loop is to either get loopy (wine, lots of it) or turn on the radio/play some favorite music.

Started Atripla 8/18/06 and if I eat the right food when I take my meds, I get to go on a-trip-la.

You've got an EARWORM!

The way I've always heard to get rid of them is to hear the actual song.  Others are singing it out loud, singing it backwards or, heaven forbid, replace it with another!  :o

Wine sounds like a fun way to try tho.  :D

Adema and Dachsund (two people I PREVIOUSLY liked!)

Listen you crazy fool.  The idea was to get one song out of my head, not put a worse one back in!   >:(

So to both of you. . . . .

"Jeramiah was a bullfrog
Was a good friend of mine.

I never understood and single word he said
But I helped him drink his wine.

Oh yeah he always had some mighty fine wine.

Singin JOY TO THE WORLD
ALL THE BOYS AND GIRLS
JOY TO THE FISHES IN THE DEEP BLUE SEA
JOY TO YOU AND ME!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We weren't accepted and I felt ashamed
Nineteen I left them, tell me who's to blame
My life since then has been from man to man
But I can't run away from what I am

                            Half-breed, that's all I ever heard

                                      [Repeat chorus]

woo-woo-woo-woo       woo-woo-woo-woo    woo-woo-woo-woo

The most infamous one of them all:

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears
It's a world of hopes and a world of fears
There's so much that we share that its time we're aware
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world
There is just one moon and one golden sun
And a smile means friendship for everyone
Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

I always thought the Oscar Mayer jingles, both for the hot dogs and B-O-L-O-G-N-A were quite infectious.

Oh I wish I was an Oscar Mayer...
