Hi Everyone,
If anyone has had any recent travel info/experience on fuzeon, I would appreciate any info. I'm a little concerned with the recent fluid ban etc(since the Brittish busted up that huge hi-jack plot)...Plus I would be carrying on 20 syringes as well.

I had no problems travelling with Fuzeon to Montreal.
Each time I cleared security, I notified the screeners before my bag went through the xray machine that they would need to do a visual check too.
They thanked me for giving them the heads up.
Once my bag came out the other side of the machine, it was collected by a screener, I was asked to step to the side. They opened my bag, made sure the all my prescriptions were labeled with my name (which they matched to my passport).
The only thing I changed this time, in addition to having the travel certificate which states we are carrying syringes, I had a letter from my doctor explaining that Fuzeon came in two vials, one powder, one liquid, and it was essential for me to have this medication with me.
The other thing I did (as cowandalehouse mentioned) I went to my pharmacy and had them print out two extra labels which I stuck onto the boxes (powder and liquid) the vials come in. (The little ones, not the great big box that everything comes in.) That was probably the smartest thing I did, cause that is what they checked for (they never looked at the letter or the certificate). I would recommend you leave the vials in those little boxes therefore, as opposed to putting them into the spongy thing that we got with our black zippered case) and if possible get the pharmacy to provide you with a label you can attach to each.
All in all it went very smoothly. Never a problem, just took a little extra time.

alain and rab, thanks! Hopefully worst case will be i will have to check my bag with the fuzeon in it. I'll let you know what happens. I'm flying from Phoenix to Philadelphia so hopefully there wont be a problem.

Important Information Concerning New Security Procedures
Due to enhanced security measures liquids, gels, lotions and other items of similar consistency will not be permitted in carry-on baggage. These types of items must be packed in your checked baggage.
To ensure the health and welfare of our air travelers with disabilities and medical conditions the following items are permitted.
* Liquid prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket
* Up to 5 oz. (148ml) of liquid or gel low blood sugar treatment
* Up to 4 oz. of essential non-prescription liquid medications including saline solution, eye care products and KY jelly
* Gel-filled bras and similar prostethics
* Gel-filled wheelchair cushions
* Life support and life sustaining liquids such as bone marrow, blood products, and transplant organs carried for medical reasons

Our checkpoint security screening procedures for persons with disabilities, medical conditions, and the mature have not changed as a result of the current threat situation.
All disability-related equipment, aids, and devices continue to be allowed through security checkpoints once cleared through screening.
Prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket; up to 5oz. (148ml) or gel low blood sugar treatment - including juice and up to 4 oz. of non-prescription liquid medications are permitted.
People with disabilities, those with prosthetic devices, and those with medical conditions DO NOT have to remove their shoes during this heightened security level. Those with disabilities who keep their shoes on will be subjected to additional screening that includes a visual, physical and explosive trace detection sampling of their footwear.
Travelers may want to consider the following.
* Check with your airline and airport well before your flight departs to determine what time to arrive.
* Follow all published rules concerning carry-on items and medications. All items prohibited from carry-on luggage prior to August 10, 2006, are still prohibited.
* Ensure the name on any prescription medicines matches the name of the traveler. All prescription medicines will be checked against the name of the carrier.
* Continue bringing documentation on medications, devices, medical condition where possible, though this is not a requirement and will not exempt a passenger from the screening process.
* Pack medications in a clear bag separate from other carry-on items/bags. All prescription medicines must be inspected, but they will not be damaged, nor will anyone be asked to taste or otherwise test them.
* Exercise patience with screening procedures, our Security Officers or potential delays.

I just got home from Europe. I checked all my meds and I had no problem. I had more of a problem trying to take my ipod on the plane....I guess I could have blown up the plane with Joni Mitchell and Laura Nyro...but my drugs were fine.

Get the letter, make sure all your meds match the name on your passport and you will be OK. I am a FA, fly all over the place and never leave home without my meds (just like my american express). But, the letter is critical!
