Please help…anxiety from symptoms is unbearable

Hello…I met a woman and we began dating.  She just got out of a long marriage.  She had dated one guy previously before we met.  They had sex but she told me (know I shouldn’t rely on that)that it was only oral without condom and intercourse with condom always.  We had sex on 2 occasions without a condom (stupid).   On the 7th day i got a fever, night sweats and just feel lousy.  I am currently on day 3 of those symptoms.  I have ruled out Covid and Flu.  Am convinced i i am positive in my head. 

I know i will have to get tested when able to be sure.  But what is likelihood to have these symptoms on the 7th day from the first encounter?

Contact your healthcare provider and get it treated. No need to overthink things.

Intercourse without a condom, to confirm your HIV status, test at six weeks post potential exposure with a blood-draw (lab) HIV antibody test. The result at this time will rarely change, and retesting at three months is generally not needed.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

It's not HIV-specific or related to HIV from the encounter posted here. However, that doesn't mean anything*. Do see your healthcare provider and get it treated.

The vast majority of people have no initial symptoms or at least none noticeable; I wish it weren't the case. Anyhow, the lack or presence of symptoms doesn't mean you don't have HIV. You had a risk, and the only way to know is by testing, so go test when due to confirm your HIV status.

Start using condoms and consider PrEP as an additional layer of HIV prevention.
