I don't know about you, but I am sweating like a whore in church these days.

Water, water, water...I drink it all day long at work. I work outside, so it is important to keep the water coming!

I hate to drink water, but cutting up a lemon and squeezing it into my water makes me like it alot more.

Hey guys, you can come and play in my "Wally World Donut Pool".  You won't get fit doing laps, but sure will cool off and enjoy the rays.  ;)

Against some of the comments I've read about sun tanning, I live for the sun. You would be aghast to see my tanline at the momnent, I assure you. Having said that, if you're "feeling" like you shouldn't be in the sun/heat, then likely that is the case for you. I've always tried to listen to what my body tells me. Sometimes it's an obvious message, sometimes it's more subtle, but it's always trying to communicate!

I think discomfort and this heat wave go hand in hand.
Our local paper published guidelines for dealing with the heat.
Cool showers, airconditioning and body powder go a long way to making one feel better.  I had my first cold shower yesterday...no HOT on at all.

Jeff, I love the expression "sweating like a whore in church"! And why do you not like drinking water?!

I've found a corner of the public library that's nice and frigid; spend much of the day there. But I've noticed even then, if I don't drink enough water, my urine (hope this not tmi) will be scarily dark. So I take water breaks every hour, on the hour.

Why on earth do they call this part of the world the "temperate zone"? Too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, maybe three nice months a year if you're lucky. Sound intemperate to me.

Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

OK Eric,

Just came out of the pool, and it is 97degrees F.  Whew, on top of that the humidity is uncomfortably high at 23%, but that is still low enough that when you get out of the pool, you  get very cool very quickly.   Oh the outside temperature at 3;19pm is now 93 degrees F, and the rain clouds are forming for a nice cool evening thunderstorm.  I guess living in the Arizona desert has its blessings, but remember, we live at 4300feet altitude.

What a fun day.  (except for the AZT nausea and diarrhea)

Hey boys,
Whores in church and floozies sound like they go together well.  It has been between 102-108 for some days here in California.  The heat and I do not get along...someone somewhere cool adopt me please.

90-something felt almost 'cool' today in comparison to what it has been lately.

When do you suppose our world leaders will 'wake up' and do something about global warming?   The oil companies are getting richer, but what good is all that money going to do them if they destroy the planet?   Seems like a very dumb thing for smart people to be doing.

Eric, you got it made up there in the Rockies. I've lived in Phoenix for (4) four years and that is Hot with humidity creeping it's way in. Now back in Florida where the humidity makes you drink water and ice all day.

I stay cool, the A/C is a blessing in disguise. World leaders? They don't even take the time out to think because of all of their money rolling in from their oil. Global warming is real.

It has been pretty warm here. One of the bank thermometers read 111 degrees F yesterday.

Actually, I don't mind the heat. Its the humidity that is doing me in. We are getting the monsoonal flow, but not much in the way of rain.

It gets cloudy, thunder and lightening erupt, it gets REALLY humid, and then - nothing. Yuck!

My evaporative cooler, which works like a charn in June when the humidity hovers in the 13 to 15 percent range, isn't worth the electricity to run it when it gets like this.

So, I have a window air conditioner that I trade off with. It gets rid of the moisture and makes it easier to breathe, even if the house never really gets any cooler than 85 degrees.

At least its comfortable. I do dread seeing the electric bill though.

HUGS,

Mark

I guess I'm strange. I love heat! What kills me off is being in air cond too much, and especially going between outside heat to inside air cond. My joints feel it, even before hiv, I was messed up if in the air cond too much. I always thought it was just odd me, but then I noticed the dogs would get a dry hacking pant and sound. I realized it was the air cond getting to them too.

It can get so hot here in the summer, the tv news tries to fry eggs on the sidewalk to test the heat. I prefer steak or ribs.  ;D

But being in a "farm" state, I know its very hard (the heat) on live stock.

Man, I'm at the beach every weekend. After starting meds it was rough for a couple of weeks but now I'm fine. I just can't stay out there for more than 4-5 hours at a time. My tan is great, it'd be a lot better if they had nude beaches in Florida but as of now my ass cheeks are still lighter than the rest of me.  ;D

the joke here is that NYC has 2 seasons

= summer and winter.

(but it's pretty much just an exaggeration. we like to exaggerate. although most years, spring here "seems" real short)
