Fingering with nitrile gloves
« on: April 03, 2013, 09:31:47 am »
I have read a lot of the post re. the risk of receiving oral but I am convinced that I will be the first one to get it this way and I'm going through a really hellish period of anxiety waiting for the window period to pass. I had unprotected oral performed on me by an anonymous person and ejaculated in their mouth. They also rimmed me and briefly fingered me.
Can someone help with some words to ease the anxiety? This happened about 8 days ago. I tested negative yesterday with a rapid blood antibody test. I'm tempted to go for an RNA test but am afraid of a false positive result.
ughhhhhh!

You did not have a risk HIV from getting a blow job and you do not need to test .

There have been no fewer than three separate serodiscordant couples studies (where one person is HIV positive, the other negative.) These couples were tracked for three. five and ten years. The couples used condoms for penetrative vaginal and anal sex, but NO BARRIER at all for oral sex. Any kind of oral sex.

These studies yielded NO infections.

You are worrying needlessly .

Thank you kindly for the reply Jeff. Much appreciated. Are there any risks involved with fingering, french kissing, or being rimmed? I didn't see any blood on mouth or hands. I'm such an OCD anxious mess and my mind keeps wandering...

None of the things you mention are a risk for HIV . I'm confident that you didn't have a risk in the situations you have asked about . Its safe for you to get on with life and put this behind you .

Fingering with nitrile gloves
« Reply #5 on: August 01, 2015, 06:04:33 pm »
Hello to all at POZ
I have a question regarding fingering. About a week ago I was anally fingered by a man of unknown status. It lasted between 20-30 minutes and was rather vigorous. I put a nitrile glove on his hand and used Crisco as a lube. There was no anal sex performed at all. He used 3-4 of his fingers that went in rather deeply. He did not fist me however as I was way too tight for that to happen. The glove was fully in tact when he finished. There was no blood visible either. Are the nitrile gloves considered as safe as latex in terms of a barrier and does the use of the Crisco as a lube weaken them in any way? I have read other posts regarding fingering but am still quite anxious about the possibility of having contracted HIV if he did happen to be positive. Any advice and or info would so greatly be appreciated. Thank you for being here.

The ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. That's it. As long as you always use condoms for those activities you will be effectively protected.

You are worrying needlessly about this glove incident with fingering. There's no cause for concern nor any need for testing.

Get on with your life.

The risk factors for HIV are ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth.
Very specific health care situations.

Use condoms for vaginal and anal sex consistently and correctly and you will avoid HIV infection, it is that simple.

Thank you for the words of reassurance and information. My anxiety is getting the better of me and of course my head plays it's wicked games. I tested negative via rapid oral on the 28th and plan to test at the 6 week mark. Got the Unigold kit online. Damn anxiety. Thank you all again.

The issue is that you did not have a risk for HIV, which you don't seem able to accept.

We are not going to get into a back and forth about which tests and when since there was no risk. Cut out making a drama when you have no basis in HIV science to be concerned or to test.
