Hello, I am a male who engaged in some sexual activities with another male this past Sunday.

Basically we mutually masturbated with his lotion, touched our penises together/rubbed (there was a lot of precum from him), he put a condom on my penis and put vibrators in the condom, and then he anally fingered me. I am sure he had some of his precum on his fingers when he fingered me with very thick lotion. Later he came on my chest and I showered.

From what I understand, I have really nothing to worry about in terms of HIV and other STIs, Is this true?

Also would there be any use in using an enema to clean my anus now? I have this fear that some of this precum/lotion/cum or something could be in there. I just need someone who can tell me why this is ridiculous to assuage my fears right now.

There's no risk here in terms of HIV infection. Other STIs might be a bit of an issue (HPV for example which causes genital warts) because they're more transmissible and more common than HIV.

HIV is a fragile virus, it is transmitted in very particular ways. Those ways are:

Unprotected vaginal and anal sex;
Sharing contaminated injecting equipment such as needles and syringes;
In some cases from HIV positive mother to her unborn or nursing infant.

Even though you do not need to be tested for HIV over this specific encounter like all sexually active people, you should be having a full sexual health screening at least once a year. Twice is better. If it's been a while since your last screening or if you've not had one before, you should visit your doctor or local clinic.

I might also say that using lotions with condoms is not a good idea. Many of these contain mineral oils which can degrade latex condoms and lead to ruptures. You will know if a condom ruptures because it's very obvious. They split wide open. Obviously that didn't happen this time, but it's important to remember proper handling technique for rubbers in future.

The condom was only used for the toys nothing else. Speaking of toys, they were obviously used by him before and probably other people. I should not have to worry about HIV in that case correct?

Also about my enema question. I'm just curious, would it be even necessary to use an enema in my case? Do people use enemas after anal sex? I have never had anal sex.

Yeah I realise how you were using the condoms -- and it's not really an issue when they're only on dildos and the like. Rather you should get into the practice of only using water based lubes with condoms.

As for the enema -- don't do this. It won't help prevent disease transmission and there is some evidence that improperly or inexpertly administered enemas can irritate and inflame the rectal mucosa.
