Hi guys. Dont mean to annoy anyone here , I know my questions often times can come off as silly but if Im here writting to you its because somethings driving me insane and I coud use some help. I had basically given up on sex since my diagnosis. I dont want any other infections coming my way if I can help it. Homosexuaity here is very tabu still, so the people who are openly gay are often the stereotypical promiscous type.....  I live alone and theres not much of a poz community where I live . Aside from that I have a really hard time building relationships in general, friendships or love relationships. This wasnt always the case but for some reason its become more and more difficult. So any ailment aside from the hiv diagnosis freaks me out, not only because of  having it , but because odds point out that from here it basically me on my own. So I try to keep myself out of trouble.
Last night I slipped and ended up going down on this guy. It was only skin contact , nothing else, cum or anything. Today Ive been on and off having dry and tingly feeling all over the lips. This could be from stress or dry weather , but could I have gotten something else? If it was for example herpes , would I actually feel it? I thought you didnt feel anything until you got the sore.......
Anyway , as usual Im getting all this info from the doctors saying that herpes could kill a person with hiv. Like literally out of his mouth. So , help me out guys . Could this be a thing? I find it hard to believe that there are not many guys living healthy lifes with both out there.

I have both. I'm perfectly fine.

You're whipping yourself into a panic over probably nothing.  You wouldn't feel anything 24 hrs after regardless.  You probably already have, like most people, HSV-1, which is oral herpes, or as most people call them, fever blisters.  If not, consider yourself lucky and quit worrying. 

If the doc said what you say, he should probably re-educate himself. 

I'm sure someone else will be along momentarily to add more depth and breadth to what I've said.

The funny thing is i confront them head on about them giving me fatalist , misleading information and they immediately play the "are you going to believe your dr or the internet" card which puts one in a confusing position. Its disheartening.

In this instance I would choose to trust the internet.

If you haven't wandered over to Tumblr you should. Dr Joel Gallant does an ask/answer blog.  He can be humorous in his responses sometimes but is a wealth of knowledge and very highly respected in the HIV realm.

Doctors are human and human make mistakes.  One of my doctors said i should get rid of my kids as they were a danger to me, nutcase.

Look this is simple you just like anyone else who is sexually active have risks of contracting STI's. Herpes is a common one particularly the oral herpes and most of the population has cold sores. A cold sore is not deadly or lethal to you.
