Cut on scrotum - possible risk
« on: November 26, 2009, 02:24:45 pm »
Hi,

I am worried a lot as I had sex with a high class escort. 3 days before that, I had a small cut on my scrotum while I was trimming with an electric trimmer. Before the meeting, I checked that the cut was healed and had sex with her using a condom. There is no breakage or slippage of the condom during the intercourse. But now I feel something bumpy on my throat, the location where the lymph nodes are present. I don't exactly know how a soar throat would be. My throat is not paining yet. I started checked the lymph nodes since 7 days and now they are swollen. This is freaking me out.I am not able to sleep or do any work. I am under deep stress. Getting mad day by day. Please help me.
What possibility do I have to get HIV or any STD ?
IS there any possible because the vaginal fluids might get in contact with the small cut that I have for a long time ?
Can you please tell me what symptoms I have to look for in case or soar throat ?
This is my first time encounter in my life and so I am worried a lot about my parents... please help me. I swear to god now that I will not have sex with any sex worker in my life...

At no time were you at risk of contracting HIV in the situation you've provided.

I am afraid because I have a cut on my scrotum. There are chances that vaginal fluids might get contacted with my cut. On top of it, I have lymph node swelling which is freaking me out. Please help me to get out of this mental tension. You guys are doing a great job...

HIV is transmitted within the host not on the outside.

Cuts, nicks, burns, sores and such in the genital area are not risks for HIV transmission. HIV is a fragile virus. It does not survive long in the air. Also, the vaginal fluids which might contain HIV are in the cervical area well up in the vaginal cavity and would not have been able to reach your scrotum.

You are worrying needlessly and there is no need for testing.

Cheers.

If you have any physical symptoms that concern you, discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV from what you have reported.

Hi Andy, one last question - If a person got to test for HIV, how many days should he wait ? I ask this because I saw in some forums and internet articles that now the tests are very advanced that they can detect the antibody, if present in 4 weeks time.. Is it right ? I just wanted to get ride of this tension as soon as possible.. so was very curious to know this. I am sorry to bother you more...

The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. All but the smallest number who will seroconvert will do so within 4-6 weeks after a risky exposure. 13 weeks is the final testing point after a risky incident.

All of the above is irrelevant for you in terms of the incident which brought you here because you didn't have a risk. So testing for you if you do it is strictly for your peace of mind and a negative result is a foregone conclusion.

Thanks a ton to Andy and Rapidrod. You answers made me feel free of stress for few days. But I am having one more concern. I know I shouldn't discuss any symptoms in this forum. But you guys are the only ones whom I feel could help me out to figure out whats happening in me.This is my situation presently

I am having a tickling sensation under my cheeks since 2 weeks which is  exactly 1 week after my sexual encounter. I dont know how to check for swollen lymph nodes. So I am checking everyday to find out. Sometimes , my chin is going numb. Sometimes, I am having a sensation like an electric shock under my cheeks. Day by day these symptoms are frightening me. I am not able to understand what is happening in me. Are these any different kinds of symptoms for HIV ? Could you please give me some inputs on how to check swollen lymph nodes and associated symptoms. Thank you a lot for helping me once again.

Leave your lymph nodes alone. Pressing, squeezing and otherwise bothering them can create a real problem. You need to discuss your concerns with your doctor. We cannot diagnose anything in this setting.

Period.

Your condom did not fail or you would have known.

Thank you rapidrod for your reply.I actually wanted to know if the virus could tresspass the condom because of the lubricant. If the only risk is when the condom breaks, then my doubt is cleared. thanks a lot for the support of you guys. You have been helping lot of stressed people like me. great job....

If the condom had failed, no matter what lube you were using, it would have been very apparent. It's not about teensie weensie little holes happening. When it fails the whole thing gives and ends up looking like a hoop on your penis with fringe.

Make sure you are always using water-based lubricants.

You are worrying needlesslyu. Get on with your life.

Hi Andy and Rapidrod,

Thanks for your answers.Right now my situation is very critical.
I am having very high flu now, around 39 degree centigrade (102.2 F) and sweating a lot. I am trying to control it but its uncontrollable. Now I am getting very scared.
There are no rashes,no swollen lymph nodes and I have a sore throat now.
This thought of possible infection is draining all my energy :(
I had a HIV test yesterday and the following is the report. This test is actually made in Europe (France).

Method CMIA ARCHITECT ABBOTT Ag/Ac VHI Combo
Detection : negative

Method retroscreen HIV 1 + 2 ALL DIAG
Detection : negative

This test is exactly made after 4 weeks. How reliable are the above tests ?
And another question is - When I am having sex with that girl I actually sucked her breasts a lot . I dont know whether there is any breast milk or not. If there is any breast milk, what are the chances that I might be infected ?
Sorry to ask too many questions. I am not in situation to convince myself. Your answers have been helping me a lot. If I am sure of the situation, I could better explain my doctor today.

Thanks a lot for helping me through all the truma.

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Your negative result is not a surprise here. You didn't have a risk for HIV. Period. End of story.

Sucking a woman's breast is not a risk for HIV for an adult. The only ones who are at risk for HIV transmission through sucking a breast are infants, (younger than 6 months), because their immune systems haven't yet kicked in.

You are worrying needlessly. If you continue to return with the same non-risk concerns you are going to get a Time Out.

Severe headache and burning urination
« Reply #18 on: November 28, 2011, 01:05:29 pm »
Dear all,

I belive that this forum can answer my question and clear the worry.

20 days back, I had projected sex with a girl . 3 days later, I started getting slight pain in the penis and started urinating frequently. Along with this problem, I was having severe headache all the day and night and feel so tired. I dont know whether this is related to any STD.. But can STD's cause symptoms like this ?

Please answer my question and ease my mind.

My head was breaking with tension :(

I've merged your threads here. In the future please follow our rule and keep any entries in this same thread and don't start any new ones. Thanks for your cooperation.

As long as you used a condom for intercourse then you would have been effectively protected against HIV transmission. Your symptoms are not HIV-specific in any way. If they persist you need to discuss them with a doctor.

This is not an HIV situation and there is no need for concern about that on your part nor any need for HIV testing.
