« on: November 15, 2006, 10:53:02 pm »
Came across www.1l1wendsaids.org website by chance.
Is this thing  a way of reversing AIDS back to HIV for real ?
or another red herring ?
( The BBC News footage made me pause it could be a legit thing ).

Anybody know more about it ?

See THE GOAT SERUM ISSUE

Somewhere behind this tale of goats and immunoglobin is some serious science, but it as yet unproven, it's at the concept stage.  It is an immune based approach. Research in the US, Australia and America supports the approach as worth developing, but, in terms of a treatment/cure now, it is snake oil.

I'm a realist and I've watched these "breakthrough"sand "cures" come and go for a couple of decades. Anecdotal accounts of cures here and there are meaningless. You can pick any disease in the world and find some miracle cure for it along with personal testimonies on the Internet. If this approach actually works, believe me when I say that you, I and everyone else in the world who has AIDS will hear about it. If any of those weight-loss products that are hyped incessantly on TV actually worked, don't you think someone would have won the Nobel Prize by now? Stick with the tried-and-true. There's no cure yet, but the drugs that are out there now do work and have a good chance of keeping you healthy until there is a cure.
