I think I might have pneumonia
« on: January 09, 2020, 05:19:51 pm »
I've had it for a week or two now. I have a bad cough that has mucus,in the starting stage I had blood chunks from there, now it's just normal phlegm. Now I feel as if something is bubbling when I exhale. It usually happens when I lay down to sleep.
Should I try going to the doc?

Fabio.

I love you and hope you feel better soon. That said i'm banging my head against the table at the moment, no joke.

If you have been coughing up blood you should be seeing the doctor right now instead of posting here. Probably it's not pneumonia, that said it could be anything though like coughing for weeks or hard and bursting a few blood vessels, the flu, a bad cold, but for all, we know it could be TB or something more serious (yes there are worse things)

Hope you feel better soon, but see a doctor.

Thanks,I'll be going as fast as possible. Of course I haven't mentioned it could be from my nose too, since it's sort of broken and it does that from time to time.
I am a lot better from when I started, but I'm considering visiting the gp,since the cough and bubbly thing isn't going.
Will update you.

Yeah, see the GP and keep us posted.

Hope you feel better soon, look I had pleuritis over the winter (Sharp pain when breathing in) following a lung infection.  My point being, instead of waiting I saw the GP and treated it.

Well, at least you have peace of mind and a cold is better than pneumonia.
Still, it sucks and I hope you feel better soon.

Take the Bisolvon as prescribed. If you feel worse contact your doctor asap. Rest and give your body chance to recover. A bad cold or flu can make you feel like dying. That bit of blood was from all that coughing...no cause for alarm.
Get well soon  ;)

Never play with pneumonia.  Years before the infection at 19 I went from running miles to bed ridden in under 36 hours.  I'm glad your doing much better.  I don't know if your doctor will recommend it, but I had an ex ray a week after treatment to verify I was clear.

Doctors here in greece are quite corrupt, they wont recommend a lot of stuff unless you are on the deathbed or if you pay them.
On that note, I sometimes am afraid to tell my status to other doctors in the fear of being both rejected and gossiped (both happened to me once in the past, when I had to go for surgery). Do you tell other docs your status (I tell them mostly so that they know I take meds).

Personally I'm shocked to hear that.  I would have figured given the EU and the general push for socialized health care through Europe that wouldn't be the case.  I'm sorry to hear that but I'm glad your doing better.  Stay alert it can come back if it doesn't fully clear.  Happened to a friend of mine.
