I've been seeing the same doctor, that is, primary care  physicians, for ten years or more.  Each year at our annual physical, I would have thought that my weight was either ten pounds greater  and ten pounds  lighter depending on my latest diet, etc.  Surprise, he showed me that my weight was consistent to within a pound over all those years.

Hi there - I have never heard of that term. I normally hear about BMI - Body Mass Index

Here are some links for you - Hope they're helpful  :-\

Here is a definition of set point:

"The current theory is that when you've finished growing, you have a stable weight range, known as your set-point - that is, the weight your body maintains when you consistently...

    * eat when you are hungry
    * stop eating when you are full and
    * exercise moderately

Your set-point may fluctuate 5-10 pounds (2-5 kgs.), but for most non-dieting adults, set-point stays relatively stable."

And I wished for guidance, and I wished for peace
I could see the lightning; somewhere in the east
And I wished for affection, and I wished for calm
As I lay there - Nervous in the light of dawn
