wine and medication

    I cerntianly had too much wine for this three days becuase i feel upset with
  this virus .taking a bottle of red wine first and after that i took my meds at the normal time
then continueing with another  bottle of white wine alone.duo i knew about the liver
toxicity that's why  i write to ask what will be the negetive impact of my meds and wine.regimen sustiva,truvada

I doubt that one night of winery will have a significant impact on your liver. I have pickled mine rather thoroughly, and have had only the occasional spike. I switch to wine for a month or two, and I'm as good as new.

If you are not making a habit out of it, or missing doses, I really would not give it much thought. Our bodies are far more resilient than we think. I do remember that when I was on Sustiva, the CNS side effects were more pronounced when I drank alcohol.

I don't drink wine (I am allergic to the sulfites in it, so it give me a horrible headache if I even have a sip of it) --

I do drink plenty of Coronas though --- and I agree that with Sustiva (I'm on Atripla) the CNS effects can definitely get more pronounced.

   truely everything is moderate but i went for a cocktail party and it hapen that i want to
 have fun like others not everytime i kept on saying or giving an excuses.

phildin, i do not threw things out or vomit once it's inside my stomach ,the only proble
i withness was bloating or asses gas sometimes and i don't form it as a habit it's occasionaly.

It's not recommended, but must be honest, personally I have just carried on drinking as I did before diagnoses, and that is every night. I even take my meds whilst in the Pub with my drink. I have had no ill affects and noticed no changes it has also not shown to be detrimental to my health on the checks I under go at clinic.
There will be some that condemn me for saying this but it's my truth, why BS this is a forum of a diverse collection of people.

It's not that (heavy) drinking alcohol has any instant effect necessarily on your lab numbers, it's that you're potentially (though not necessarily) taxing your liver and/or kidney functions, and it's desirable to lessen the impact on these organs as HIV and the medications you are on potentially (though not necessarily) impact these on their own.

It's for this reason, at least years ago, I snorted drugs instead of drinking.  I still drank socially of course, but generally didn't get drunk more than once a week.  There's really no medical reason to completely forego alcohol consumption, and my first doctor way back almost two decades ago was upfront even then about this -- the occasional drink will not harm you, anything more than that has the potential to harm you, but it's not a given.
