Side effects of HIV meds
« on: September 11, 2019, 09:53:10 pm »
Hello everyone 👋, for those on meds for their treatments, do you or have experienced a lot of reactions such as rash, itching, etc? I seem to be having a lot of issues with mine and I am really frustrated 😣. My recent episode was with taking isentress and pifeltro. I had a rash all over my neck and chest and my throat was tingling and itching. At this point,  my Dr doesn't really know what else to put me on. Can any of you share your regimen just to give me an idea? Thank you!

Sorry to here are having rashes again after changing combo's a few times. Have you spoken to a dermatologist since the last time?

Anyhow I do get rashes, hives and itching from time to time so understand the frustration in that sense but for me it's not related to my HIV meds. I don't think my personal experience with different combo's would be very helpful to you but I do hope you feel better soon

Best, Jim

Rashes are very frustrating.  They can be caused by all sorts of things, not just medications.   Somehow I got scabies a few months back - pure hell.

It may be worth seeing a generalist doctor or get a referral to a dermatologist.

Thanks for your response. I saw an allergist yesterday who suspects that I may have an underlying condition which is making me break out in the rashes and hives, so she's looking into it. She thinks whatever the underlying issues may be aggravating me when I take my meds. I have my fingers crossed. I will update once I have answers.

Thanks.
