Edurant (rilvirapine) with or without food + time settings
« on: March 07, 2017, 04:33:55 am »
I am "blipping", so my doc puts me on new meds. Now i have to take Edurant (rilvirapine) + Dolutegravir + Lamivudine once a day. My problem is that Edurant has to be taken with food. I am travelling almost every day by flights everywhere in asia in my work, and i cannot eat at the same time every day.

My question is: Is it ok to take the Doltegravir + Lamivudine f.ex at 8 am every day and the Edurant as soon as i eat the first time of the day, and different times? I will be able to eat between 8 am and 12 noon everyday, but never at a specific time....?

Rilpivarine has a long half life so it is forgiving as to when it is taken.  As long as you take it with food you'll be fine.
I take mine with breakfast, on working days that's 7,00 am at weekends that's 10.00 am. Occasionally I forget the breakfast dose, is so if i do I dose at lunch time.

I've been on it at least 5 years now with an undetectable vl.

i take it with my Truvada at Bfast. I travel often and have decided to stick to bfast regardless of the time zone. I try at 9 am but sometimes it is at 7 an sometimes at 11 - no issue. I understand that there is flexibility a few hours in either direction. I prefer to take everything once, so i don`t have another thing to remember during the day. At BFAST i get it over with!
As WADE once told me - don`t over think it. Take the pills after you eat and enjoy a healthy life!
