Do trolls exist on here? Each discussion forum I look at, weather its a dating site or not, I always spot a troll. Why do trolls do what they do? I remember once I got told to stop trolling a forum when I was just asking a question. How is that trolling?

And, yes: we've had trolls here at AIDSmeds before. There's a special spot in hell for types who would troll a place established for the support and education of those effected by chronic conditions and terminal illnesses; I'm sure of it.

Wow. He's not calling people names he's identifying you as a troll and honestly I wouldn't disagree with his choice of labels for you. If you really don't think you are one just put him on ignore and utilize these forums for whatever reason you choose. Although honestly if you're looking to avoid being called a troll or being accused of flaming I can point out what in your previous post is bad n-etiquette.
1) "I'm a troll how?" That sentence reeks of attitude, if you really don't want him to point it out just ask in another less impolite way. 'Why do you think I am a troll?' might be a good start.
2) "Calling someone a troll is offensive matty" He didn't call someone a troll, he called you a troll. Perhaps 'I wish you wouldn't call me a troll'.
3) "I would appreciate if you wouldn't call people names". Once again you're deflecting, you're not defending someone else, he was speaking directly to you although this time you did say 'You would appreciate' which is on the right path! I personally would have ended it with 'I would appreciate if you didn't call me a troll'. You can then add some sort of frowny emoticon to show everyone that you're upset.

"Trolls" are the over 40 guys who cruise young men. Not the studly daddies. The average to seedy types who know no shame. (living under the bridge types, literally or figuratively)
Anyway, that's how I learned the nomenclature when I was a hot twink. And we thought it was vulgar, annoying and pathetic. (Which is why I am bewildered now that I am single and troll age at the number of guys my age who only want twinks??? How f*cking deluded is this!)

Rachel Maddow did a good takedown on the Tea Party meme the other day. You see, they are trolling the politcal process. Politicians and news media keep feeding them. You have a tea party demonstration of 500 people and it makes all the headlines. (but "100,000 people marching to stop puppy killing wouldn't make page 6!") They say irrational hypocritical stuff and normally rational people take it seriously by considering the statements.
A lot of them look like classic "trolls" by the way.

Convicted Party of Jesus bathroom troll and Family Values supporter, former US Senator Larry Craig, has dropped his appeal to overturn his confessed guilt in a bathroom trolling incident at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.
The former Senator, who is not gay and never has been gay, previously plead guilty and signed paperwork admitting that he was guilty of activities in a now famous restroom that were interpreted as solicitation to engage in man to man sex. He is not gay. He never has been gay. He simply has a wide stance. And let's not forget that the former Senator has got teh family values too!
Mr Craig has become a celebrity, and he was even honored by the St Paul Saints baseball team with a Larry Craig Bobblefoot Day. The team said that it was a "tribute to all their toe-tapping friends and fans from around the nation who may ever have set foot in Minneapolis-St. Paul… even for just a change of planes."
This is not to be confused with the Larry Craig Action Figure.
In summary, former Senator Larry Craig was guilty when he said he was guilty, he was still guilty when he said he was not guilty and appealed his own admission of his own guilt, and now that he has dropped his I'm not guilty appeal to the Minnesota Supreme Court he is still guilty. And he is not gay. And he never has been gay. He just likes to provide oral service to strangers in public restrooms. Oh, and he has Party of Jesus brand Family Values too. Got it?

Well, it actually is. It gives some perspective to your posting, and given the nature of your queries in the AM I INFECTED forum, it raises an eyebrow or two as to your motives on the board. Forgive my skepticism, but to your initial question, yes, this place gets trolls. Usually they are dealt with rather swiftly, harshly, or barring that, entertainingly.

Thats what she said!! lol. Hey so tell me, what is it like dealing with those ww's? I read so much in the "Am i infected" forums, and i would think it be really annoying to have to responed to the same thing again and again.

The sad thing about responding in the AM I INFECTED forum is that some people are not there for the science. to be fair, the most up to date HIV transmission science is offered in the "LESSONS" section of this site.
But some seem to think that their experience will be "unique" enough to warrant a departure from that science. That fingering "with menses" has never happened, nor been studied. That oral sex a few days after getting one's teeth cleaned will create a caveat.
I honestly think it is, at the end of the discussion, a need people have to be punished for what they perceive to be sins, or crimes, or offenses against the ones that trust them with their sexual being. HIV is not that. It is a virus, and it behaves in specific ways, enters through specific pathways (only recently understood) and carries with is neither judgment nor punishment. It is, to quote the meme, what it is.
Advances in HIV therapy have allowed many if not most people diagnosed in countries that offer even the most rudimentary healthcare a lifespan skatingly close to normal. side effects of the medications notwithstanding, they have all but transformed HIV from a certaintly fatal pathogen to one that, if caught early and treated appropriately, can indeed be managed. Granted, at a rather substantial ongoing cost.
Simply put, HIV is no longer the boogeyman. People are going to have to look elsewhere to find a blight from God to smite them for their wicked deeds.
But in the meantime, AIDSMEDS, which is first AND FOREMOST a support and informational forum for those affected/infected with HIV, will continue to offer the AM I INFECTED forum as a courtesy and a feature for those with questions, or in need. It was never designed as a primary focus for this site, nor should it ever become so.
So what is it like dealing with WW's? Sometimes pretty depressing. Because I get an insight into what people think when they see ME and know I am infected. Because the judgment they seek from the virus, they give freely to those who already have it. It's heart-wrenching, really. And it makes some of us decide that this is not the world in which they want to live, unclean and despised.
I for one am not here to be anybody's "filthy" friend.

Posting excessively to Am I Infected is against the rules for many reasons
1) A sign that the poster has other issues to deal with than fear of HIV. Fear of HIV functions as a symptom of some psychological challenge.
2) The moderators answers to peoples fears are cut and dry. They don't need much further discussion. But the poster will want to discuss things on and on. See number 1
3) Moderators' time is valuable, why waste it again and again, after the necessary info has been given - See number 1.
I was in a antique/junk shop the other day. This nice looking old lady was asking the manager the price of everything and he was being so rude. After she left, i asked him why he was so rude. I suggested maybe she couldnt read so well. He replied, all the objects have a price, the price is never negotiated and she knows that. She comes in regularly and asks the price of many things and never buys anything. And when she hears the prices, she signs about how expensive it is. Its a tick of hers.
At least in here, the moderators don't get rude in the Am I Infected threads.
