Ah Basquo!

Xanadu really has it all, from the purile ELO-written theme song to shoulder pads and rhinestone cowgirls.

But the unitard-clad torture victim spinning by her head in the lower left corner sent me to a whole new level of appreciation.

It's no wonder that the collective shudder felt around the world (except maybe Bollywood) was so intense that no cinematic musicals were produced for more than a decade after its release. It out-Myras Myra Breckinridge by a factor of ten.

Love it, baby-

Basq, that was longer than GONE WITH THE WIND....and MUCH better!

The REHEARSALS for it must have been really SPECIAL.

Actually, it's kinda hard to take it all in on just one viewing. I'll have to chill now with CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC.

Happy Sunday,
Andy Velez
