Title: Iritatation
Post by: hong on March 28, 2007, 10:17:28 am
Dear Experts,

Learning from the transmission lesson in this site, I promise to myself to always avoid unsafe sex(e.g. unprotected anal or vaginal sex).
For those reason, yesterday I only masturbated him using my right hand, while I used my left hand to fingering his anus.
I inserted my forefinger into his anus and stimulating him, until he orgasm and ejaculated.

From this lesson I learned that fingering is not a risk.
Somehow, what make me feel bothered is when I realized that  I have irritation skin on my forefinger.
The irritation skin is around the nail area, caused by detergent water (I washed my tshirt manually using my hand, so the irritation is a kind of my skin reaction to the burning detergent). The skin around my forefinger nail was soft and red,and a bit pain like burning sensation.

I am afraid that there was blood from his anus while I fingered him (eventhough I did not see visible amount, but might be invisible?).
Was it a risk? Should I do blood test for this incident?
Please advise me.
Thanks a lot.

No, you were never at risk.

Hong, you do need to read the lesson on Transmission. This epidemic is going to be around for a longtime to come. No one can afford to be unknowing about the real risks. There's a link to the lesson in the Welcome thread which opens this section. Getting that information down will tell you how to protect yourself and spare you unnecessary worry while enjoying your sexuality.

This time out you have no cause for further concern.

Cheers,

Dear Expert,

Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I know that the main route in sex transmission is by "unprotected anal and vaginal penetration".
However, I understand that we can find HIV in infected blood.
I am afraid that when I inserted and stimulated his anal (using my forefinger) have made him bleeding (eventhough in small amount), and the HIV (in the blood) is transmitted through my  unhealthy forefinger (the red, soft, and irritated skin near my nail).

OIher than this, I heard that HIV also there in anal fluids (mucosal).

Please advise.
Thanks in advance.

There's never been a documented case of transmission through fingering, which is a not unusual sexual act.

This was hardly an instance of known HIV+ blood pouring into an open wound, which is the circumstance in which theoretically transmission could take place.

If the common sort of occurence was a risk for transmission we would have known it long before today. I feel safe in saying you are not going to make history by becoming the first, via your "irritated" finger. You are worrying needlessly.
