I'm positive since 6. Feb
« on: April 01, 2023, 02:07:05 pm »
Hi all here , I have actually been checking this forum in the last few weeks. This article here and member responding just make me more relax and im able to understand this HIV virus who become my new life partner.

Guys, English is not the best side. I'm originally from Italy, so I can be ok to try

Here is my story, my current situation, and some questions, I ❤️  to learn from you guys who understands this virus better and can give some good advices on any issue.

My name is Michael. I'm 43 years old now
I'm married over 10 years with 3 kids
Around Oct. 2022 I start to feel some nummies 🦵 like it sleeps, feel a bit tired, not realy the same power to work like I was use to be before. Like weak !!

So my wife made me an appointment
With our family doctor for body checking and control

So he se d md for general blood tests, and it looks perfect
Like zero problems, which I didn't expect any issues
I'm living normal life, not secrets, all very normal,
Gym person, skipper, active person,

So for now all was OK and we travel to Swiss for holiday and back on Jan 2023, and I still fell my legs pains, or sleeping and my body energy low
Is anoing me and wants to finish with that.

So this time, I ask the doctor to do any type of deepest tests can I get, including
Including HIV,
So the test was made on 25.jan and on the 30.jan
I'm positive for HIV..... OMG 😲 😱

I was in a bad dream, I felt I'm out of the game
I started to be very stressed and didn't know what the next

I had very, very hard days and horrible light
BTW, even now, still sleeping is an issue,

I have Dr. Appointment with hiv specialist on the 10.feb ,so I go for sure he explain and explain and
I didn't understand anything.. I was so scared that I'm sure I'm going to die soon and thinking was it the point to understand yo much talking.
So he told me my CD4 is 58 and LV in 2 million
I dont understand anything if it is good or bad
He also told me this virus is over 10 years in my body, and my wife was happy 😊  I didn't cheat.. hhh
I'm going to die, and she thinks if I cheat or not. Hhh

And the way he gave me barkry and septrin
So I start this process of taking meds,
I have my next blood test after 2 weeks and one day after my blad test he calls me and ask me to come to the hospital to mingitis checking again , he find something in my blood, ok was hospitalise for 4 days of all body testing and at the end he told me the virus is in the blood and didn't go out to other body organs so all good, but I need to starts fluconazol x200mg 4 pills a day, so first 2 weeks I stop biktvy ART
After 2 first 2 weeks I back to my ART  med, but needed to reduce the fluconazol x2 pills a day for more than 2 months, with I'm still on.
I dont know if it is the right way, but it was it for now.

So I did again blood test on 15.march and
CD4 278, and LV 2725
It looks like great numbers, but I don't know if this is just a pamp because I start med or numbers I can maintain and keep recovering my body.

Very very strange I'm with that so many years and
Only after I started ART med, all the body start to feel like sick on the knees, and harms, eye, lips dray OMG
I have become crazy. Every issue now looks for me like the end of my life.

So I imagine my fional, start to make videos and photos with my kids, on biz side I start to arrange the biz to supporting my family if I'm not around

I started to read like crazy about any type of cure, med, companies who took parts, followed FDA news, world forums videos, new articles,
Many positive videos who live with HIV or AIDS

I think all these forum posts from first to last page
On ppl living with hiv, just find out, cure

Do I'm less stressed these days
Waiting for the next blood test to see the numbers are ok
Hope to finish with fluconazol
The truth is I stop to think HIV will be the main issue. I will be dead in the next years,
I know many issues can kill me before

The only concern I have is to take all to prevent injections for COVID, HIPATITIS,  KIDNEY,  LEVER,  MINGITIS
so I recommend to any to be on the safe side
And let the body be ready for any case.

Guys
This is my story. I hope my English was OK.
I will share some questions dgow how my post
I love to hear more ppl here and how they control the bad thought when they try to sleep.
Are sweeting is normal when I'm on those pills
And South of Italy is hot, very hot.
Yesterday, I saw small blood in my pup but did not look to strang and last checking doctor, told me I'm OK
So not sure if I developed something or is another feeling I have in the last weeks that all wpassedass.

Thanks for hearing my story
Thx for all new online shar, ng same road  ppl
the nd biggest for the gr is up bihaind this forum

Who helped me and others to feel alive again  :-[

My name is Michael. I'm 43 years old now
Hey! I'm a Michael too. I just turned 61 and have been married 6.5 yrs and have 2 dogs.

OMG though. You’ve been alive just a little bit longer than I’ve lived with HIV.

I have Dr. Appointment with hiv specialist on the 10.feb ,so I go for sure he explain and explain and
I didn't understand anything.. I was so scared that I'm sure I'm going to die soon and thinking was it the point to understand yo much talking.
Lots of people feel just like you when they get diagnosed. And well they should. Untreated HIV is a deadly, terminal disease. BUT treated HIV is easily managed and will mean very little to your life in the long run.

So he told me my CD4 is 58 and LV in 2 million
I dont understand anything if it is good or bad
He also told me this virus is over 10 years in my body, and my wife was happy 😊  I didn't cheat.. hhh
I'm going to die, and she thinks if I cheat or not. Hhh
the cd4 is a measurement of how many cd4s are in your blood. Cd4s are part of the immune system, and the part of the body that HIV attacks in our bodies. The Viral Load is a measurement of how much HIV is in your blood. When you’re not treated for this disease the viral load gets larger and larger; and the cd4 count goes very low. (to have counts as bad as you did to start with, you probably have lived with untreated HIV for around a decade)

And the way he gave me barkry and septrin
So I start this process of taking meds,
With proper medication though, HIV is unable to reproduce and the count of the viral load will drop to “undetectable” and that allows your body to heal and your cd4s will rise.

So I did again blood test on 15.march and
CD4 278, and LV 2725
that’s great! A little bit of medication and already your counts are improving. That’s an incredible turnaround and it should make you feel better mentally, not worse.

so first 2 weeks I stop biktvy ART
After 2 first 2 weeks I back to my ART  med, but needed to reduce the fluconazol x2 pills a day for more than 2 months, with I'm still on.
I dont know if it is the right way, but it was it for now.
No. you need to take your HIV medication EVERY DAY. Never skip a dose for any reason!

When you have to take other meds, like the Septra and fluconazole, take those meds AND your HIV med.

Every issue now looks for me like the end of my life.

So I imagine my fional, start to make videos and photos with my kids, on biz side I start to arrange the biz to supporting my family if I'm not around
Only not treating HIV will lead to death from AIDS. Treating HIV, like you are now doing, will let you continue to live your life probably as long as you would have without HIV. The meds are just that good!

I started to read like crazy about any type of cure, med, companies who took parts, followed FDA news, world forums videos, new articles,
Many positive videos who live with HIV or AIDS

I think all these forum posts from first to last page
On ppl living with hiv, just find out, cure
I’ve been living with HIV for 40 years now, and realize that a cure will probably not be found in our lifetime. HIV is just a very hard disease, like many others (like cancer, etc), that will not be cured for a long time. But if you’re taking your HIV meds every day, get to “undetectable” and remain there, you really won’t need a cure. ;)

I hope some of this helps you understand better and that you feel better about how your future will look!

No way for your doctor to tell. With your results, it could be anything from a few years, like 2 or 3 or as long as 10+ years.

Not strange at all. A tad crude, but your immune system could no longer fight infections and after starting treatment the HIV started to be suppressed, and your immune system started to fight infections it had ignored or was too weak to notice before. In short, you can feel a lot sicker before you get better.

Some have this really bad called (IRIS) Sindrome infiammatoria da immunoricostituzione.

It looks like great numbers, but I don't know if this is just a pamp because I start med or numbers I can maintain and keep recovering my body.

Great results, the viral load (LV as you mention) was reduced a lot in a short amount of time, meaning the HIV meds were working to suppress the virus. It can take time before its fully suppressed.

I know many issues can kill me before

Sure, you could be dead tomorrow from a common issue like getting into a car accident. Living with HIV doesn't change that and living with HIV isn't the main issue in life if you take treatment.

HIV isn't the death sentence it once was, if you have access to treatment, you could live a very long life.

Hope you are doing well and you are starting to understand a bit more about your condition. Just know it's impossible to learn it all but over time you will learn what is important to you.

A few things that I have learned since I was diagnosed.

Make sure you talk with your healthcare providers and never feel bad about asking any questions.  Yes, it's possible they had got the questions many times but this is the first time for you.  It took me some time to find a specialist that I felt cared about me and so glad I have the opportunity for that.

If you seem like you have a side effect to your medication please take note of it.  Sometimes they will disappear in a few weeks but if not talk to your provider the next time you see them.

Also their is nothing wrong with talking to someone if you are having a hard time mentally dealing with this.  Many employers have an Employee Assistance Program that you could have some free counseling services and you may have something through your insurance.  It took me a few years to allow myself to talk to someone but it had to be one my time.

Lastly, check with the Pharmaceutical company on any programs they have to help pay for the medication.  Nothing wrong to check that out and even for me my pharmacist looked that up for me so I could get help.  For me being on an HSA makes it hard to pay for everything so some help is appreciated.

I just wish you the best and make sure to ask questions.  We are here for you and everyone else and we even have a monthly virtual meetup so that is fun.

I forgot to mention one very important thing: your wife needs to be tested. If she also has HIV, she'll want to get onto treatment just like you have.

Hi thanks a lot for your replying on my post
Is different hours between us and the response 🤔 is a bit late
Yep sure my wife is going to be checked this week asap
So she not is going to be in my case, and she pass it better, hopefully she is negative,  I don’t want to be the one who done that for her.

Hi guys , leatherman, Jim, and Ken.
Thanks, guys, for your response to my post, I was reading your response in the last week and am very happy to hear you guys are talking to me , @)))

So if you don't mind ,
I have a few more questions regarding the do or feelings .

1. Should I do covid19 injection , I don't know what when all did and like to understand the risk  and the recomendate inject you suggested.

2. Any idea why I'm still sweeting every night,  I'm feeling good, my doctor don't see nothing and I'm affried he missing something?

3. Can someone in my condition go to the swimming pool or to the beach ⛱️?

4. Something in general you recommend to do or not to do based on health, food, sport, and stress ?

5. Can I go out for the shopping centre 😩  I'm affried to catch some OI's jerms, viruses -(( .

6. What is the sign I need to watch out on the health side ? As well what you think in such case I need to do ?
Ex. Pup a bit blood ?, pain in Macel, blood in the gums?

7. I'm actually affried to come closet to my family,  I'm affried I don't fo ant infection for my kids, kiss, or drink at same glass when my gum is senses with blood.

Also I have a dog in my house. I'm afraid to catch some germs from him, what do you think ?

SORRY, If my QUESTION sounds stupid or strange
Hopefully, this question and answer will also help others to learn more about this matter.

So here are some answers

1. Should I do covid19 injection
Talk to your doctor about what preventative medications/injections you need. Covid, shingles and pneumonia vaccines are things you should check on. Your doctor will probably say yes to all these preventatives.

2. Any idea why I'm still sweeting every night
HIV is an infection. Your body is fighting the infection and sweating can be a side effect of that. As you viral loads goes to undetectable and your cd4s continue climbing, issues like this should go away.

3. Can someone in my condition go to the swimming pool or to the beach ⛱️?
Yes. A clean private pool is safest against any germs but as long as you take normal precautions other places are safe also

4. Something in general you recommend to do or not to do based on health, food, sport, and stress ?
Follow basic health rules: stop smoking, reduce stress, exercise more, sleep enough, eat better balanced diet.

5. Can I go out forhttps://forums.poz.com/Themes/default/images/bbc/bold.gif the shopping centre 😩  I'm affried to catch some OI's jerms, viruses -(( .
Take normal precautions, or maybe above normal precautions depending on the flu and/or covid rates in your area, for a while.

6. What is the sign I need to watch out on the health side ?
Actually if you remain on daily meds, there will be nothing to watch out for except good health and a long life.

7. I'm actually affried to come closet to my family,  I'm affried I don't fo ant infection for my kids, kiss, or drink at same glass when my gum is senses with blood.
Really the only way to transmit HIV is to inject it into someone. If you’re not sharing needles or having sex with people, you will NOT transmit HIV. Regular touching, sneezing, tears, even a lightly bleeding scratch will not transmit HIV. On the adult side of things, once you've reached undetectable and kept that way for 6 months by remaining on your daily meds, you won't even be able to transmit HIV by sex. If your wife tests negative, she could take PReP medication (an HIV preventative) as an extra precaution along with you being undetectable for 6 months.

( 8 ) Also I have a dog in my house. I'm afraid to catch some germs from him, what do you think ?
Dogs will not make you sick. Dogs will make you happier and healthier

While I was at my sickest, I had 7 cocker spaniels, a cat, and a birdcage full of finches. The story of how much I love my dogs and how they kept me from dying was written up in POZ magazine way back in 2010. (https://www.poz.com/article/Pawsitivity-HIV-JUNE2010-18378-6069   My story is the 7th one. Wow! reading that now, a lot sure has changed in my life - and all of the changes have been great!)

I know right now you have lot of questions and things look bleak; but things really will get better. It just takes time... and sticking to the meds every day.  ;) :)

Hey, I wasn't sure how to tag you.
Any way tanks for your worm answers
And your patience for ppl like me ÷))

Yea, I have questions that I feel need to be cleared
Since I got this virus news , my life has already jumped for the moon and got back to earth 10 times

At the start, it was a dead sentence
And now it has become still hard to swollen
But , is treatable infection 😫 I will able to maintain if I will play by the rules.

So I might have a bit more later 🤔
Because I'm listening to my body and following any type of new feelings and checking , learning, and learning that the most is going away, so I'm more relaxed

I'm sure with time all be much easy.
I'm feeling 10000% different from the starting point.

So thanks
Love ❤️  to hear more good ideas about
Tips for better heath, food recommended,
Others

All the best F.. the rest 😌😴😪

Sorry to hear about you finding out you have HIV.

Just to help you see a brighter future...

I am married also with kids. I found out I had HIV as I started to get sick over a 9 month period, colds that never wet away, rashes, weight loss, eventually had to go to hospital for pneumonia & found out I had HIV.  CD4 was 22. That was 5 years ago. I was on the antibiotics for almost 2 years until my CD4 increased.

Doc said I could have had it for 10+ years, who knows really?!?

Anyway rolling forward 5 years, life is normal just the same as ever. I take 2 pills each morning & rarely think of HIV. Luckily my wife did not get it from me.

I do think the experience of getting very ill at the Advanced HIV or AIDS stage & a good look at what was once Deaths Door, (Thank God for modern medicine & me finding out before it was too late), that is has made me a better person in many ways. I am more grateful, less judgemental, less work focused & more focused on my kids as I know now who precious life is. :)

It might not seems like it now to you, but in time, it will be no different than taking a Vitamin pill each day. You take your pill(s) and just get on with life, and do your best to stay healthy.

Hey Lao11

Hope you are doing good 👍,  sounds like we share similar points in our discovery.
Thanks for the good words that make me more calm, the true I'm better now, at the start I was in low low point mentality and was sure life is done, become very sensitive and start to spread love and good words 😊 to all like I'm out of the life game,
I face hard days and nights , even now my night is still hard 😪 I didn't sleep more than 2 hours in the last 2 months, I'm sweat till point it cold from the wet t-shirts,
Need yo pee ever hour hhh like sink and far... like machine gun   🔫 (laugh)(laugh)(laugh) omg maybe pills effect.

I'm becoming better and better, but deep deep, I feel like failing in my life making decisions, and in general, I'm a very popular and successful guy.
Most of the ppl around me look at me as a model to achieve good in life, and now I feel like I disappointed myself with that image,
No one knows nothing, I will not expose it , I dont think it is needed.

In any case, I hope all this virus epidemic will be terminated soon. I hope that in the next years,

I find it is not hard to go live the virus
Is harder to hide it from people around us. And live with this info alon special when you like idol for them is really hard ...

I would like to thank you for this post and love to hear more
Always , any time
Don't forget I never sleep 😴 so I'm a fast responder.

All the best
Hope you are doing well, and I wish to come to that level when I see the good side of the full pic. 😊

ojo.         Hello there!. welcome to the forum…you have gotten advice from the best I have the best of our members of this forum, I hope and your wife get tested as soon as possible and I hope she is HIV negative… I just can add that your treatment seems to be working pretty well and if you take your medication as prescribed you will become undetectable, on your next bloodwork test, I am sure you will be undetectable, which means she have net the goal we all want to get. Your CD4 will increase little by little, but remember that the medication just suppress the virus… please keep us posted and keep doing what you’re doing, taking the medication as prescribed…ci vi diamo

Yep, great news , my wife was tested for HIV and finds out she is NEGATIVE.
That's excellent news!

There are two things that can help keep her negative
1) when you stay on daily meds, and are Undetectable for 6 months, you can no longer transmit HIV. This is called "U=U" or "Undetectable equals untransmittable".
https://www.niaid.nih.gov/diseases-conditions/treatment-prevention
2) she could consider PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), that's medicine that reduces your chances of getting HIV
https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/prep/about-prep.html

I dont have any anger on this puta who gave me that
Not holding onto anger about getting infected with HIV is always a good thing. First, because usually the person who transmitted it to you didn't know that they had it. (just like you may have, but thankfully didn't, transmitted it to your wife when you didn't know you had it). Second, because as the old saying goes, it takes two to tango. At some point, you had unprotected sex (or shared needles) and you got infected. Just like the rest of us, that's on you and no one else.

Keep on taking your meds, and live your life to the fullest!

Do you know that your wife is essay bit negative which means, you had to concentrate in taking care of yourself. Zarate had to do drastic changes but, if your city for is SOLIS 3200 you had to wash out. HIV positive you had to leave positively. That’s the only way that you are going to
Control the virus and try to get back to control your life again… please keep us posted and remember that we are here for you. You are not alone any questions you may have just

Excellent results, viral load is fully supressed (UD), biktarvy is working well. Keep taking the meds.
Not sure why you are getting these checked so often though.

Hi Jim, Thanks for your replying,
As always any responding here keeps me/us supported

What I try to ask in my last posting is a bit of tip how to deal with my covid in a more successful way,
But im not sure why
It wasn't so bad for me after the first day, at the start I feel some stress because the info here that said covid kills ppl with HIV, but the truth i got is more soft from what I was expected.
That is why at the started wanted some tip from others who face that before here.

Cheers

Rest, fluids, isolate, follow your doctor's advice, report if things get worse like trouble breathing.
Hope you feel better soon.

There was a thread for covid, not used anymore. Plenty of people reporting getting sick & better halfway through the threads time. Not sure if that's helpful but here is the link: https://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=73775.msg
