Hello good day..im jay 64 years old from philippines
I had my test last november 2 and it turns positive..my cd4 is 168 and i already started taking arv.
My main concern is i have a swollen and really hurt lympnodes under my armpit as well as on my neck.
And i think this is tke reason why i always have a fever like 39 every 6 hours
I used to take paracetamol then in a few minutes my temperature will be back to normal..

My question is:
Is it normal to have a painfull lymphnodes during hiv medication?

Im a bit afraid maybe its lymphoma

Hi Jay,

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis and that you have been feeling unwell.
What HIV meds are you taking? Are you taking any antibiotics?

Regarding the nodes, if they are swollen due to HIV it can take a while for them to settle down after starting HIV treatment, the thing is, they can also swell and be painful for a number of other reasons, not just HIV related and you really should see your doctor and have it checked out.

Thanks, im taking 3 in1 arv here in the philippines
We already had biopsy to find out where is this lymphnodes coming from.
My doctor suspect it tb of the lymphnodes how ever when i start tb meds i had alot of allergies..so my doctor decided to stop taking tb meds until the biopsy result will come.out..

I took cotrimoxasole but im allergic to it.

So the only meds im taking now is arv 3 in 1

I am just worried with my lymphnodes that cause me fever every 6 hours..

I don't know what 3in1 is ... I understand it's 3 drugs in one pill but there are quite a few options/combinations like that.

When do you have your next follow up with your doctor and did you have your viral load measured?

Okay so the doctor has already looked and suspects TB. When was that and when do you think you will have the results of the biopsy?

I am just worried with my lymphnodes that cause me fever every 6 hours..

I would not stress about a temperature, I would be more stressed about rulling out TB

I will check the meds later..
Nextweek friday i will get the result of biopsy and hope everything will fine..
Because my sputum and xray are all negative

I have a partner for 5 years we always had unprotected sex like once aweek
Then when we had the test i got positive and he is negative..
We had the test in the hospial, how many percent is my partner having a true negative?
Is that possible?
My partner is now taking care of me and he is really supportive.

Hiya, glad to hear that your partner is supportive.

Sure it's possible, now not sure when or what test but generally speaking a negative HIV antibodies test at 3 months post last possible exposure would be considered conclusive

He will do another thest on march that is 13 weeks after our last contact..

Yes and wer getting this meds absolutely free even all are laboratory and hospitalization if free..our government set a specific budjet for.those people living with hiv..

Next week i will show you the result of my biopsy..

We are now just focusing on my hiv meds
Im also planning to go back to the gym by next month..

I also want to share that my partner got negative result at 9 weeks..
He is really happy but still we need another test on 13 weeks
