SEROSTIM question
« on: April 09, 2014, 11:10:22 pm »
I have been POZ for over 30 years and it was the ablatia heart procedure 2 years ago that led me to loose over 30 pounds. Before that I didn't have any problems with my HIV meds. I'm about to start  Serostim for my muscle wasting and  to give ME back my appetite. My first concern is the injection that I will be doing/ not looking forward to that. I believe ADAP does not cover this drug but my BCBS will by mail .. Any concerns from you guys would be helpful in this next phase of my life
Thank you..
Tony

Hi Tony,
Have you asked the doc about the pills, I believe the name is Megase, but I could be wrong. It is a derivative of Canabis, appetite stimulant. I don't know if the Serostim does more than stimulate appetite. Does it have a direct effect on the muscles? These are the questions I'd be asking. Good luck.

Deibster: thanks for replying
THC ::The pill form we have in the USA of THC is synthetic and too strong for me. This is a different medication::The Serostim ( used in muscle wasting )was explained to me by my MD and at the same time may give you an appetite .. You do know that's two different meds you're mentioning. I have tried the THC in capsule form when I had  stage one Cancer/ synthetic THC is not for me/ just made me pass out literally. / don't like it... The Serostim is injectable and also comes in some form other then an injection/ you scratch your skink guess like a TB test , something like that but whatever means it's injectable, coming directly from the drug company, I have to pass the criteria before I even get the meds for insurance purposes

Cheers..
Tony

FYI: in NY state canabis is not legal right now
