Experience Getting Life Insurance
« on: January 30, 2017, 07:59:02 pm »
Does anyone have experience with getting life insurance for HIV persons in the USA?  I understand AEQUALIS as explained at https://myaequalis.com/ is one such offering.    I'm very healthy and have always been undetectable since getting HIV in 2003.

I also am interested in other's experiences concerning life insurance. For example can HIV poz even get insurance without a med check? What are the rates like?

Last I looked, which was just after it was announced that some with HIV could obtain private individual life insurance, it was expensive and with limited benefits.

I do have life insurance, but through a group offering at work. They make it very clear to what level you can buy it before a medical exam is required. They also make it clear that if you take the exam and they deem you do not qualify (HIV would do that) then you would lose even the offer you would of had without the exam.
