Dear friends.. I'm wondering if any statistical data exists on non-adherence. in other words I would like to see data on how many (%) do not adhere to their treatment. Also, some of the reasons they don't and the like.
Thanks in advance for any information you might share.

reading up about the "HIV treatment cascade" (google it!) might give you some insight. Of course, there is no completely accurate data about adherence because quite frankly many people who are non-adherent (by 1 time or 20 times) simply lie about missing meds.

glad to have helped even though there's really no exact data to get about adherence rates
I've had another thought about non-adherence rates that muddies the waters. Studies have shown that most ARVs are still succesfully effective when taken >=95%. This means that someone could be nearly 5% non-adherent and still be UD - with no way to tell they were that non-adherent except by unreliable patient reporting. The only way to exactly monitor a patient's true adherence is probably through the expensive Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM)
