question please

I recently had protected vaginal sex with my new partner using a new condom brand.
The brand however was not comfortable so halfway thru intercourse, I removed it and replaced it with a familiar brand.
During the switch, we realised that her period had just started very lightly, so there a very small amount of menstrual fluid on the 1st condom.
When switching condoms, I did so as carefully as i could.
My concern in hindsight however is the possibility that a small amount of menstrual (or vaginal fluid) could have gotten inside the second condom during the switch, although examination post-event did not show any immediately obvious signs of this.
I tested -ve last year.
I don't know her status at this time.

Any advice on the risk level of this and the wisdom (or lack thereof) of switching on the fly, greatly appreciated.

Take a look at Ann's condoms and lube links.

There would be no risk for HIV infection from what you have described.  You were protected during intercourse you're good to go.

Nothing you have described including the switching of condoms put you at risk for HIV transmission.

Your committment to using condoms is admirable and SMART. Stop second guessing yourself and just keep the latex handy to be used everytime.

Simply having some menstrual blood touch your skin or even your penis wouldn't have put you at risk. Not unless you were pouring HIV+ blood into your urethra with a funnel.

You weren't doing that were you? ....I didn't think so.

Take a break and get on with your life. There's no cause for concern about this incident in relation to HIV.

I recently was tested with my partner prior to marriage and we were both cleared for the whole STD panel incl. HIV.
For my stag do, I went to spearmint rhino and had a couple of dances where I was fully clothed.

Apologies for the graphic words, but the incident I would like to ask advice about is that one of the dancers touched herself and then a few moments later touched my hand briefly.  I had a couple of small scabs which I think were healed, which she may have touched with that same fingers that she used to touch herself but I cannot be certain.

Low risk admittedly, but wondered if you think there is a need for me to retest after the appropriate time.

During the 14 days after the incident, I experienced a few minor symptoms like sore throat, minor cough, tender armpit glands, more than normal sweating and minor malaise.  Its only because of these symptoms that I was wondering if you thought I need to investigate this further.

S2, no, not low risk. NO RISK! NO RISK! NO RISK!

HIV is transmitted sexually in very specific ways: unprotected vaginal or anal sex. It absolutely is NOT transmitted through touching, masturbation or rubbing, no matter what vaginal or other body fluids are involved.

No need for further concern on your part.

As Andy told you, what you describe is NOT a risk. You do NOT need to test over this.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. It's nothing to do with hiv.
