tvants (tv for free)
« on: August 18, 2006, 03:05:15 am »
Hi gang

For everyone who likes to watch channels like HBO, CNN, Aljazeera, AXN or ESPN for free on you PC

try this: tvants

(download it here http://www.chip.de/downloads/c1_downloads_auswahl_19199676.html?t=1155883657&v=3600&s=f668d9cedae1d72d52bc3682de1a478e

Its a German webpage, but just press the blue button, saying "Gratis-Download
1 MBit-DSL: 5 Minuten"

You can download the application, install it and you´ll have access to around 200 channels (many of them Asian though). Unfortunately you´ll need some kind of broadband (at least 512 kbit).

There is an English page that serves well as an installation guide: http://www.football4less.com/streams/tvants.html

Quality is not perfect but surprisingly good !

A word of caution to all non flat-fee users: It takes a lot of bandwith!!! Only use it if you are on a flat fee contract with you provider!

regards

Darkfiber

Yes,

If my mind serves me correctly there is also fox, abc, National Geographics, ESPN (and other sports channels). From the Uk there is the whole range of BBC´s.

Since it´s based on p2p it also depends what communication servers you are using (there are many available).

Here are some more servers to put in tvants in order to receive even more channels:

Server Name   Address   Description   Comments
www.tvants.com   www.tvants.com
www1.tvants.com
ww2.tvants.com
tracker2.tvants.com
fanshoptv.no-ip.info
213.97.9.122
fw-tracker.no-ip.com
tracker.tvants.com
trackersport.serveftp.com
10.214.49.88
hive.tobroadcast.com
202.172.224.197
219.149.195.139

Just put the servers addresses in the register "servers" on tvants. Should bring around 200 channels.
Regards
DF
