Hi All,

Well, I have seen the lab work that I had yesterday and seen my CD4 count.  May of 2017 I was at "2" and now September of 2019 I am at "218". 

I so expected to be happy once it reached 200 or above but for some reason, it makes me sad.  Then again I've been so low for so long maybe it'll just take time for me to adjust to it. 

Then I saw my AST level and it is one point above normal. First time it has been high so I'll see what the specialist says.  I know for my vacation last week I wasn't drinking as much water as I normally did and I even cut my drinking down quite a bit. 

Hopefully, I will be able to celebrate my new levels.

Excellent news on the CD4 count!  If you are on Bactrim (or the equivalent), you'll be able to stop with another above-200 reading.

Plus, you are now out of danger of many OI's.  That is good news, indeed.

From what I know about AST levels, one point above normal likely not a big deal at all.  It could even be a blip.

Congrats on the CD4 result!!!

As for the AST -- I, personally, wouldn't give it another moment of thought.  Generally, when there is something going on that would impact liver enzymes, it tends to hit all of them -- especially AST & ALT.  Also, when something "bad" is going on, they don't usually just tick up a little -- they jump up.  When I had Hepatitis A, my AST was 990 (my ALT was over 1400).
Of course, your doctor knows you and your history best -- but I bet he wouldn't even mention it -- unless you ask!

very good update. happy for you. I know how it feel to breach 200....
same same with you. started low single digit CD4.

I was able to cut off Bactrim as soon as it reached above. Some Dr will want to continue longer. congra!!

**** Something similar happened to me, although I was only at 198. I guess we have these high expectations once the magical "200" is reached! I don't know what was I expecting! A different feeling? A different sensation?I wasn't sad, but definitely I was expecting something else, not a normal day at work!****  :) :) :)

Hopefully, I will be able to celebrate my new levels.   8) 8) 8) 8) Oh, yes! YOU will!!  :D :D :D

Today January 20, 2020, I have taken 2378 pills of my ARV since first pill. This means 79 bottles of 30 pills of ARVs at an average of $3950 per bottle or $313,103 USD for my treatment. I have a compliance of 99.83% taking my meds and only .17% (or 4 pills) non-compliant. Of these four pills two I forgot completely, One I lost and one I didn't have with me while traveling! I became UD 3 months after treatment start   ***We are all dealing with this. And we will live long and productive lives!! AND, yes the Lord is my shepherd. Life is good... And thanks for the meds! ***

Congratulations! Happy for you. I am expecting to have same news in November. I started with 100 and after 6 months the highest I have gotten is 150. So I know how it feels to be waiting on that results.
