Post by: reallomax on January 08, 2008, 02:55:00 pm
hi everyone i end up my thailand holiday but now i m feeling paranoia about the *uck which i had in pattaya . Here is my story
i met with a girl  in a bar and had a sexual relation with her but while we r *ucking anal the condom got broken and i shocked then i stopped *ucking so i didnt ejaculate after feeling that shock . I asked her as if she s having HIV test periodically or not. She told me not to worry about it because she never been *ucked without using condom and having that test periodically. After her reply i didnt satisfied and took her to the memorial hospital to have the test . The result was negative but i scared so much and i m still scaring about it. Should i worry about it thnx.

Getting her tested means nothing.

You had an unprotected sexual encounter (unprotected anal) and so you do need to test. You will have to test 3 months from the date of this encounter. You should also arrange to have tests for other STD's such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis.

It is unlikely that you have been infected as a result of this single encounter and I expect that you will test negative at the end of the window period. Please take the time to read our Welcome Thread (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0) and follow the links to our Lessons to learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

The only test results that matter here are your own. If the woman in question was in the window period for HIV then her negative result would not indicated her HIV status, would it?

To find out your HIV status, you're the one who has to be tested.

As I mentioned the window period for HIV testing is 12-13 weeks. Before that time any negative result you receive cannot be seen as conclusive.

The symptoms of primary HIV infection are not specific. They're really no different to a number of other viral infections and so it's not possible to diagnose someone on the basis of symptoms or the absence of symptoms. Many people show no symptoms of HIV infection at all. For these reasons we don't discuss symptoms here, so don't ask.

This comment of yours:

i 'll never get tested

is bullshit, my friend. You do need to test. Whilst the chances of you having been infected are quite low, low risk is not the same as no risk. HIV is a very serious illness and not something you can ignore.

Ultimately it's up to you, but my advice is that you have a full STD screen performed. A full screen will include, but is not limited to an HIV test.

Let me say again that I expect you to test negative.

I'll chime in with a few thoughts. First of all, lay off all the drama about this. That doesn't help in anyway.

HIV is not an easy virus to transmit. The condom protected you until it broke. Given you were the insertive partner in a single and relatively brief incident, the odds are very much in your favor that you're going to test negative. Your partner's test result is irrelevant as is the fact that you didn't ejaculate in her. You have to have your own test result. Period.

Guessing doesn't help or give you the answer that only a test done at 13 weeks can give you reliably. My expectation is that you will test negative.

In the meantime stay productively busy and you will be amazed at how quickly the waiting time can pass.

I expect you to come through this ok.

Cheers,
