Wiener Take All
« on: March 18, 2007, 08:20:44 pm »
So I went to the grocery store and there it was:  The Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile.  I wanted to drive it so bad I couldn't stand it.  If only I had had a camera with me!  I could live so happily inside a giant wiener. *

I know this is a somewhat useless thread, but I felt compelled to report my encounter with the giant wiener.

Feel free to use this thread to post about any other such tidbit you may think of....or let it die a quick death.

Anyone else encounter the Wiener Mobile or another fun type of vehicle like that?  See any other bizarre roadside attractions on your travels?

Or have any other fun but useless thing you'd like to share?  Any little bite would cut the mustard, so let's ketchup.  I'd relish the opportunity.

/editied to correct spelling of wiener- thanks, Auntie/

I encountered the Weiner Mobile several years ago on the Katy Freeway in Houston.

I wonder how many Weiner Mobiles there are?

Cheers,

Henry

:-*  Thank you!  I've not had a moustache for a while now, so I figured I was overdue for a new photo.

I do believe in truth in advertising.

That GD steam train at Universal Studios scared the F out of me when I was about 10. You're in your little happy tram taking the tour and as you cross some tracks this behomoth charges at you!

I had seen the" big weiner"  :D mobile back in the 60's, when it was on one of the tours. I wonder how many they have made, since the original one...

We can just as easily turn this into a coo over Henry thread.  Works for me.  Henry has a sweetness that is its own brand of attractive....with or without the stache.

Don't know about the Universal train, but the steam train at Six Flags always got me when I was little.  I still don't like loud noises.  They make me very uncomfortable.

Another cool car:  There was one in Wilmington that looked like a giant fish.  I wonder if the Davids have seen it there.  Probably.

To Ray:  Yeah.  The sign beside the wiener said that there had been roaming the roads for decades.  I never knew that.

Let's not forget about the Hershey's Kissmobile, which I saw at the Texas State Fair a few years ago.

Now we have both kisses and wieners in the same thread.

How bizarre.  It double-posted...quoting me in one and Henry in the other.  That's odd.

I don't believe I have ever seen that particular wiener live, up close and personal.

It does have a rather nice upward curve though.  It should hit the spot just right...no?   ::)

Even though they wouldn't let you drive the weiner, did you ask to ride it ?

Trust me, it takes years of experience before one can drive the Wienermobile with authority, not just sliding in and out of whatever buns he might find himself in.
