Congratulations, Amanda!

I looked up the article.  Very nice job of activism.  I really admire the stigma-busting action you took by being this public.

Here's the article:

I loved the description of your leukocytes lesson to your partner's kids.

Here's one of the pics of you they ran online:

Again, Brava!

Peter!!

Thank you!  Thank you so much!  I needed that...

A week after the article ran, my partner was fired from her position, "at will."

We have filed a complaint with the ACLU and they contacted us today... I've wrote some of the story here...

Things have been very tough.  I'm now trying to support four kids and my partner and it's really hard.

See the progress of our ACLU plea and follow up here:

Thanks again!

Amanda

Kudos for sharing your story and taking a stand. It's inspiring to me as a male survivor of rape who was infected from my attack. I'm determined to 'come forth' someday too. Until then, thanks for being braver than I right now. Yay!

Bricks to those idiots [neg comments to article] who are so full of hatred and stupidity. Double bricks to Jess' employer and the ensuing discrimination. Such reactions are unbelievable.
