I guess the big question is, has anyone ever had it done...and for what? Did the lipo come back, did you have to pay for your surgery? Any ladies out there get breast reductions? If so what was your cup size and what did it go down too...Did the lipo make them a bit bigger again? Anyone get there hump removed?

I've had liposuction done twice. In my early and mid 20's. I'd lost a lot of weight and living in Hollywood it's not too unusual. I was not HIV+ then and I haven't had any of the HIV related fat deposits or wasting, but if I did I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I would say I was definitely happy with the results and that because I did that back then I am able to gain weight proportionately. Those tv shows are deceptive. It hurts and I looked like I'd been run over by a truck for a couple months from all the bruising. They also don't tell you you have to wear a girdle thing for a couple weeks.

Also, on those shows they spray paint everyone with that fake tan stuff which makes anyone look thinner and hides some of the missed areas. You can get a lumpy or bad result. I still am not 100% satisfied, but I've always had a poor body image. I'd do it again.

If the meds cause this I will be signing up for round 3, but I have no regrets about the prior lipo.

Also, this works best on those who don't have a lot of weight to loose. If you are fat you will get a much better result if you loose weight and work out those muscles before.

Just remember that doctors cannot perform liposuction to remove the visceral fat gain that is typical of lipodystrophy. So if you get a stomach, you're stuck with it until they find a real treatment for this condition. And at this stage, from what I can see, no one is looking too hard.

I'm not sure about that. I saw a recent episode of Plastic surgery Before and After where they did lipo on a paitient. It did seem as though there were additional complications due to the harder fatty deposits, but the gal paitient seemed happy. I will have to research that.

while lipo to my stomach did not help much, I did have great improvement with large fat depostit on back of neck,sides of torso,and back,including hump. I would not do lipo to stomach again,its a real pain. You have to have tube sticking out of you for weeks to drain the crap out. Very disgusting. Then after that is removed they stick a very long needle into your stomach to remove junk,it doesnt hurt at all but it sure looks scary. Not for me. The other areas were no problem and successful

i had liposuction done to my stomach and butt areas and sure i was sore for about a week but i did not have any tubes sticking out of my stomach and this procedure was done about 15 yrs ago!!!I have a friend who did lipsuction on his stomach last month and the procedure was done in the office and he was back to work the next day!!!he lost close to 25 lbsjust from this procedure!!I have ann appt today to discuss liposuctionon my problem ares.i'm having it done to my neck and stomach and i'm looking forward to it!!in the past 10 yrs the procedure have become so much better and with less recovery time involved.

Let me clarify. What I was saying is that it is my understanding that doctors will not do liposuction to remove visceral fat -- the fat that builds up *beneath* the abdominal muscle wall. I know they'll do lipo on subcutaneous fat around the abdomen. But I don't think they'll do it for the internal fat.

If I'm wrong about this, please let me know.

I have no idea. I have had liposuction twice and some of the fat gets "solid" they cant get it out. This happened with my hump and back of neck. They got most of it, but some they couldnt get. I also have lumps of hard fat behind my ears that they couldnt take out.
I had my stomach done cause wtf,they were doing everything else so it was only a couple more grand. I really dont think they were able to get it all out. This was 6 or 7 years ago.
I did have a tube a sticking out of me for a couple of weeks draining gook out. Now someone here said they dont do it that way anymore, I dont know. I do know it was common for stomach lipo back when I had it done.
I had absolutely no discomfort afterwards except with the tube. That sucked.
Are you getting the front of your neck done or back of neck?

A buffalo hump is *not* visceral fat. The word "visceral" doesn't describe a characteristic of the fat itself; it refers to where the fat is located.

I am having lipohypertrophy issues at this time.

My abs are hard as a rock - with definition no less.

The problem is I am having visceral fat build up beneath the abs, which looks "odd" at best.

I also am now developing the hump and have developed lumps behind my ears an on the back of my head at the base of my skull.

I am very embarrassed by this.

I spoke with an HIV specialist who oversees much of the states HIV clients regarding my hump and visceral fat.

He didn't recommend liposuction because, in his words, the hump just comes back. Also, the "hard fat" Jack was mentioning is a problem.

As for visceral fat, they don't do it any longer. I guess there were complications, but didn't get a chance to find out what they were.

I know it has nothing to do with having rock-hard abs, because I do. Its just they are being pushed out by the fat accumulating around my internal organs.
