Royal Wedding Thread
« on: April 20, 2011, 08:31:55 am »
Ok I started it. Have fun!

Here's a start: Everyone is wondering what Kate will wear - which tiara, veil, etc?

What about balding Prince William?
A couple of years ago, I thought he looked nice with a beard and a kind of combover.
http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2009-01-07-beard.jpg

Is this real, or photoshopped?
http://www.moxieq.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/prince-william-balding.jpg

I think he should just get a crew cut.

I see the Diana pretty genes still fighting it out with the horsey fugly Windsor genes, cause sometimes he still looks quite handsome.
http://images.mirror.co.uk/upl/m4/dec2010/3/0/prince-william-zurich-450-pic-getty-418761454.jpg

______________

I wish them all the best. I'm glad they bothered to get to know each other and live together and really hope this marriage will be a happy one, and they'll become King (and Queen?).

Neither Charles nor Diana could deal with open marriage.  Open marriage is probably more the norm than the exception among royals.   Charles was in love with Camilla and Camilla wasn't OKd to marry Charles, the first go round.  What a pity.  He really loved her for the long haul!  Instead, two broken marriages and a lot of pain and suffering all around.

I wonder if Prince William stood up to all of them and said, I'm doing it my way, the modern way, living together before marriage.  Or do you think at this point, nobody cared what he did?

She would really make a fashion statement if she wore this handknitted cocoon dress, designed by Yves Saint Laurent:

Looks like a knitted dildo with a face and pointy shoes. Could be interesting.

Harry is a total hottie probably because Charles ain't that baby's daddy. Unfortunately poor William is looking more like a Windsor day by day.

With this family's previous relationship history, you wonder if it's going to last.  I mean he's already dumped her once.

You just know it's gonna go horribly wrong.  The silly moo just needs to get herself up the duff quickly.  That and get some new clothes and burn the Granny outfits she wears.

Wishing Edwina and Patsy were doing the coverage for the wedding.

As the fluttery twits who covered Charles and Horseblanket's event cheeped, that would be "O, bliss!"

I was looking forward to this.  Now I'm sick and tired of it.  I may take my friend's offer to go up to his place in Scotland, where apparently, they could give a rats ass about the Royal wedding.

Or come to the Rock. We don't give a shit either. The only people I know here who are at all excited are the ones who are getting a day off due to the special wedding bank holiday but not one of them plans on watching.

It's my daughter's birthday that weekend too and she's coming home for a visit. We could all go out on the piss together. :)

Well I started the thread cause I like me a good "Media Event" with all the PR ratfuck hoopla.  Doubt I could sit through it.

It might be fun to have a lunch and make fun of it, kinda like watching the Kentucky Derby. You don't really need to watch all that much.  My Grandma always invited people over to watch that, which is a snore except for the race itself.

I am a bit intrigued by it all but will only see excerpts of the hullabaloo after the event is over because it occurs while I am away celebrating with a friend on his birthday.  Their day in the spotlight will be over soon enough and London can get back to 'normal'.

As far as royal events go, I doubt I will watch Charles become King but when William does, I will make a point to see that event.

I've decided to throw a 5 AM English-themed "Cottaging Party" in honor of the Royal Wedding, complete with attendees wearing tiaras and having tea with spotted dick.

ps: I'm ever so happy to know that Mr. Bean will be attending.

I'm burned out already, too.  They say we Americans are obsessed with the Royals.  I'm tired of all the reports, interviews with Royal Watchers, Today Show I-Pad app.  It just seems like they could use that time to talk about Darfur or the Ivory Coast??  Or, HIV/AIDS.  Just flipping through TV 20 mins ago, I saw promos for NBC's, ABC's, and CNN's specials before Friday and live coverage to begin at 4am EDT here on Friday.

If William had only married a dude, we would not see all this special live coverage, endless talk about it, primetime specials.  They would mention it on the news, but nothing more.  If only he were queer.  Wonder what would happen if he were gay?  Would he even be allowed by the Queen to marry or whatever they call gay marriage there?  They certainly couldn't get married in the Church, right?  I'm sure the UK paparazzi would follow his man-lover, but I doubt any American networks would be interested in flying crews over to cover it.  I woke up today to "Morning Joe" set up on a London street doing their show there for the rest of the week.

Well no he wouldn't be allowed to marry another man. As an heir presumptive (and indeed a beneficiary of the Civil List) his potential marriage partner must be approved of by the Queen because he's a future Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

In fact according to the Act of Settlement she (Kate, his future brood mare) can't be a Cathylick. She can be anything else, except a man or a Mary Worshipper.

Yes, cable was the worst decision we ever made.  Well, 2nd worse.  We went with just rabbit ears until about 4 years ago when we got an HDTV.  We actually use to read---imagine that, and watch tons of PBS.  I think canceling it would be the best thing.

You do wonder if the Ex-Mrs Gareth Thomas is taking all of this coming out the closet shenanigans as well as he says.

There you are married to the muscle bound guy.  Admittedly, he won't go within ten feet of your vage, but he looks good.  And stepping out with him, you can keep up the pretence that he's pummeling you on a regular basis.

Then it all falls apart, he comes out, gets lots of press coverage and congratulations.  And then. just to add insult, he gets an invite to the Royal Wedding.  I'd be fuming.

Anyway, I saw CBS setting up outside the Tower of London over the weekend.  So am getting dolled up and heading that way to see if Katie Couric will buy my story that I blowjobed Prince Harry.   Worth a go.

According to Sports Illustrated, Thomas was notable as the world's only current professional male athlete in a team sport who is openly gay,[1] although cricketer Steven Davies and footballer Anton Hysen have since come out.

Anyway, I saw CBS setting up outside the Tower of London over the weekend.  So am getting dolled up and heading that way to see if Katie Couric will buy my story that I blowjobed Prince Harry.   Worth a go.

Well, Katie announced today she is leaving the anchor chair at CBS.  Reportedly, she is close to announcing a daytime talk show to fill the Oprah void.  But, I'm sure she'll be in London for the wedding and may be interested in booking you for the new show.  Let us know what she says.

Well, I've been watching some of the coverage this morning.  So, Kate's brother is gay?  Do they call us gays, poofs over there?  I got that vibe and then I heard commentators say he was caught wearing a dress.  And what's up with the way he gave the reading?  He seemed like some character in Star Wars who was evil.  And, why do the commentators keep calling her the future queen?  Phillip is not called King.  I don't understand all the titles and why William just got 3 new titles.  So, Diana was called princess because Charles is first in line and that's why Kate won't be called princess?  Will Harry get this kind of wedding?  Is it suppose to rain here in Louisville?

I'm not interested in the wedding so much as how things work.  I'm more interested in the cars they arrive in.  I like those almost full sunroofs that cover the whole top.  Doesn't seem good for security though.

That was a very stale, royal kiss I just saw.
