Those who seem so ready for the Democrats to "take over" should review the record of the past year where they have controlled the Congress......accomplishments...virtually none....spent millions on some "investigations" which did nothing but spend money and waste time.... tried to push an agenda of higher taxes that was foiled by the Democratic  Senate...tried to couple lots of "pet projects" to essential legislation which only got them more entries in the official " Golden Fleece Book" published in Washington... If they win in November expect more of the same... another year of" investigations",  long lists of "bring home the bacon" type programs and little or no movement on the real issues....Social Security, Medicare, tax reduction, funding the infrastructure,Immigration reform, and many others.....  BTW  they won't "pull out of Iraq" and then spend the money on the social programs....and they won't "balance the budget"   Remember we still have International agreements to honor..we support our troops and other countries in many places..Germany , England, Italy, Japan, Okinawa, and a few others...so be careful what you wish for>>>>>

Nick

You can thank the razor thin "majority" that currently exists in the Senate for that.  With the republicans either blocking legislation through filibusters and/or the Shrub vetoing everything and not a large enough majority to override a veto,  it is kinda lame to blame the democrats for not being able to move any programs through.

Quite honestly, the kind of comment you just made is EXACTLY what the republicans hope to accomplish by being obstructionists.   Don't fall for it.

I agree with Ubotts in needing a womens point of view.

Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important

The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge..

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.

I voted for Clinton as she is the Senator from my home state, New York.  But I will be glad to back Obama.

Similar feeling here as well.  Frankly I just think Hillary has a better chance of running a more powerful and successful administration and that Obama is a little too green and dreamful.  That said, if it comes down to it, this old curmudgeon will take a chance on Obama's dreams any day over a Republican's desire for a new wardrobe of Emperor's clothes.

It just feels more "American"

I dunno.  They are now reporting that she is running out of money....having to loan her campaign money and her staffers having to go without pay.

Maybe I'll vote Republican.  20 years of bushes and clintons is too much.

Oh Jesus H. Particular Christ, Cliffie!

Yeah, I probably wouldn't actually do it.  But I hate the Clintons just enough to consider it.

...would be hoping Mccain would die during his first term, but God only knows who his VP choice would be.  At least Bush is pissed off by all of this (he hates Mccain with a passion).

Yep, The Lieberman, is a piece of crap !! He's for the war ! The way the guy speaks, drives me up a wall !! I have also noticed him standing there in all the pictures. I never liked Lieberman, even when he was a so-called democrat.

There were some rumors , Mccain would pick Charlie Crist ( Governor of Florida) but I really don't expect that to happen.

EDITED TO ADD, LIEBERMAN NEVER SERVED IN THE MILITARY, BUT VERY PRO-WAR/b]

LIE-berman pissed off a lot of people by losing the Democratic primary for Senator of Connecticut and then, instead of gracefully bowing out, he runs as an independent and wins!!!  I thought that was the ultimate in chutzpah (that means he's got some nerve, if you didn't know already).

But the only person who might be worse, word comes today, is that with Romulus bowing out we might get Huckleberry as the Veep choice and with better than 50-50 odds of McLame dying in office the Huckster would be Prez.

Jody,

We agree with you.  McLame and Fuckabee!  OY Vey!!!  Should that happen we might have join Joe and Stephen in Montreal.

This whole this is about to get ugly with a capital "U".

Just our view.  But Thom's Mom and Dad are standing up in their graves at the thought that we are voting for the Democrats.

If there are any decent independants, please raise your hand ???

Ric, Thom's parents arent' the only ones standing on end.  My long-term Republican hubby is also talking about voting Democrat.  He said even if he voted for McCain, which he won't, he'd still be voting for a Democrat RINO.  I've pretty much decided to opt out of this election.  It'll be the 1st time in 17yrs that I didn't vote.  I see no reason to cast a vote "just because" when I can't see redeeming qualities in any candidate on either side.

Well Obama is winning state after state and by some pretty huge margins as well...It's looking alot better for him but very close and with these delegates and "super-delegates" whatever the heck they are?!? we still have a ways to go before we see which Democrat will run against McCain.  Either way they surely have my vote!!!

I pray Huckabee is not the vice presidential choice, I can't stomach that one, but I know McCain will be forced to choose a very conservative running mate to appease the arch conservative, evangelical Christian wing of the a GOP party, a substantial number indeed.  They want to pick the next few Supreme Court justices which truly frightens me.

I would not put it past the Republicans to have someone put a pillow over Billy Grahams face while he sleeps a few days before the election to garner the pity vote and perhaps put them over the top.
