KP-1461 Trials in many cities, for those over 250 t cells and resistant

Please post what other cities this trial is in, no time to look this info up this week.

This looks promising and someone told me that they are testing in San Diego now as well as other big cities with Universities.  This is a new thing so they are doing it in special universities that have super sensitive viral dna testing to make sure that if they force the virus to mutate and collapse that they dont make things worse.

I am shocked that this made it to trials so fast, and happy, because i thought they just had discovered it

this is great news for anyone who has under 200 cd4 cells in So Cal.  if i were in that boat i would get on this trial.

A completely new type of antiretroviral drug—KP-1461, manufactured by Koronis Pharmaceuticals—has entered the human testing phase. Whereas currently approved antiretroviral medications attempt to stop HIV from reproducing, Koronis’s compound encourages the replication of HIV. KP-1461 embeds itself in the DNA of the virus; when the virus reproduces, it does so with KP-1461 in place, resulting in the production of defective virus that can’t infect other cells.

oops there was already a thread on this topic,

the reason i posted is because i spoke with the guy who's work is HIV for all of guys and gals infected in San Diego
he is poz too and he told me of this exciting trial in san diego

but it is only for those with under 200 T cells.

Sorry tim you may want to move this to the other thread, but it is very exciting

and when i talked with him on phone yesterday he got me hopeful on this new new trial.

No, it's not. From the inclusion criteria:

"Have a stable CD4 cell count while off ART and >250 cells/mL at screening."
