my children infected?
« on: August 29, 2013, 08:29:43 am »
Hello,

I had a neg test about year and half ago jus tested pos wk ago. My children are 15,8, and 6 concerned if any of them could have been.exposed during my pregnancy. If I tested neg after their births does this mean they were  not.exposed? Had 3 c sections also.

Thanks

You don't have to worry about infecting your children with HIV . These are the risk factors for HIV .

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

You tested positive for HIV after the birth of your children and were past the breastfeeding stage when you tested , so you need not worry .

As he says they are at no risk, hopefully you have read up on H.I.V and now know it's very difficult disease to caught compared to other viruses. You can kiss, drink  from same glass e.t.c You only need to worry if blood is  present e.t.c I hope you are now feeling better and are looking after yourself. :)
