I learned that Carl Willcox, known here as Capt. Carl, passed away last night.

He put up a valiant fight and was a joy to know. I will miss him.

Rest in peace.

I've been dreading this day.

Love you Carl. Hope you're at peace.

I don't know what else to say right now.

Sad is such an understatement. Nobody should have to endure what Carl did, and so young. This upsets me greatly. I will miss you, Carlita.

This is devastating  :-[.  Carl was a fighter and had to endure so much.  Still, he always found a way to make me laugh and lift my spirits when we had a chance to talk on the phone.

I will miss him dearly.

Much love to Norm and to the Captain's family during this trying moment.

I was just thinking about him again this morning and now I see the news of his passing.  His courage in the final months was inspiring to our community and he will be lovingly remembered next week when we gather in Seattle.  His passing is a poignant reminder to us all about the fragility of life and the endurance of the bonds of love and friendship (yes...they survive the grave even as it claims our mortal bodies.)

Rest peacefully and joyfully Carl.  Condolences Norm.

There are some day's in this world that just fucking suck and today is one of them.

Like Ann I have dreaded this day for so long now, even though we knew it was coming it still comes as a terrible shock.

Carl I love you and I will miss you dreadfully, I will miss our phone calls, your wonderful sense of humor, your paintings and your stories of the man you loved so much, I'm just glad you were with him when you quietly passed away.

A good handful of people here have lost a great buddy today, my heart is with them all today, and of course Norm and Carl's family and their friend's are in my prayers.

Your pain is over Carl, and I'm so thankful for that, ours is just beginning.

Today is a bad day.

In great sadness
Jan :'(

Goddammit. Last we spoke he said he remained optimistic about going to Seattle. He also said that he didn't see it happening...but I know he will be there with us.

With extreme sadness, my condolences and hugs go out to Norm and the rest of his family.

It was an honor to get to know you, talk with you, laugh with you...  it's still kind of like a dream. That I want to wake up and and it was not so.

In the short time that I knew you, I loved you and will miss you dearly.

Norm, my heart goes out to you. I know he loved you so so much.

I'm very sorry to hear this awful news.  Carl meant so much to all the good people who frequent these great forums with his advice, great sense of humor and willingness to help anyone.  RIP Carl and sympathies to Norm and their families and friends.

Sunday Morning AUG 7th as I awoke ,saw a the most beautiful White-Pigeon-Dove @ my window seal , it hit the window (not very hard), and then perched itself on my BBQ-Grill , I know that was Capt Carl telling me he didn't have long for this world, I will miss him, and our Sunday BBQ-Steak dinners that Bob & I and Norm and Carl use to eat up @ his place, I'm very happy I got to know  Carl & Norm before he passed away :'(
