Changing meds

I've been taking Reyataz, Truvada,Norvir since 2005. I've been doing very well with this combo. I started Susiva but from my resistant test my virus have already resistant to Sustiva. Anyway, my co-pay for 3month supply is now $120. I am thinking to switch to Stribild. It wil cost me down to $80.
Am I ok to take Strbild even though I am resistant to Sustiva? Or just stick to my combo( when it's working don't change it)?????

Sorry, but this is a confusing post. Did your doctor run resistance test prior to switching to Sustiva? (meaning did you make this switch because your viral load went up from the Reyataz regimen?) If he ran a resistance test I would assume it would show if you are resistant to medications contained in Stribild.

The key drug in Stribild is elvitegravir, which an integrase inhibitor. This is from a different class of drugs to Sustiva, which is a NNRTI.

It is highly likely that Stribild will work for you, since there is no crossover in the mutations to HIV that cause resistance to Sustiva and the ones that cause resistance to elvitegravir.
