Hey Dennis,

I'm confused on why you are asking for this information.  The fact that I rent, live alone and receive disability is but a small portion of how I live my life and it certainly doesn't shed any real light on how I live as a LTS.

Oh, I was just trying to revive an old Poz mag article I remembered about 10 maybe 12 yrs. ago

titled give me shelter or something like that, I'm sure some of you might recall that one, or maybe not, that one was way back there about 1999 or maybe it was 2000

not important at all, don't mind me, I'm just being nosy......lol

Honey, my patience is running low these days.  I am so gonna deck someone who is blabbing on a cell phone or texting or whatever they do on those things now.  Its not a phone anymore!  It can even monitor what is happening at home.
Now, someone called me not long ago, and the ID on the phone was KYWTV (local Tv).  I, being excited that maybe I had won something, picked it up to find out that, no, it was this friend of mine whose lover had been in jail.  I swear it was a stolen phone! I went off.  I hope he never calls me again.  I

Yeah I understand how you feel, however I own a smartphone..........

smartphones aren't that bad, it's just that some people ( younger folks)  think that their life is so damm important when it's really NOT  ::)

and they also have NO respect for everyone else on the road, that's when I get PISSED OFF!!  >:(

Same hear in ABQ, but, that doesn't stop them from doing it  ::)

haven't they heard of hands-free Blue-tooth,

most phones come with that now, and most newer cars on the road  ;)

Seems bike riders are out to top driving and texting.  Yesterday we saw a guy riding  his bike (in a bike lane) no hands, texting with both thumbs.

Den , We own a home , it has too much land . Neither I nor Bob
Have the energy to keep up with the encroaching woods  :(

The winters here in Missouri are  cold and clammy , I do not do cold and clammy
The price of gas has begun to keep us rather home bound .

I though living in the woods would be cheap , Not so .   I would rather live in a city and not have to deal with paying insurance on vehicles .

The older or longer I live with AIDS the less energy I have to do what needs to get done !

I have found straight people are not so much afraid of my HIV  . But Gay guys   do not want to be exposed  .   They tend to know association will bring others to think they have HIV also  :o

It is a very lonely life , even having a partner for over 30 years does not make for fun times .   I miss seeing people and having friends . I do not see my old age as getting any more social .    I find happiness where it comes .
Certainly money is a concern , as all things are getting more and more expensive .
We're snow covered right now so I am getting cabin fever , It's been a few weeks snice I could get my truck out of the driveway .

Such is the life of Ozark Woodsmen  :)

                                                        Weasel

P.S.  : Still glad we are in a quiet zone , no matter how lonely ...

I just try to eat good, exercise, and be aware of how I treat myself and my body. And of course, take my meds daily. I mean, what else can you do???? It's going on 22 years for me and I feel great physically, it's the mental thing that bothers me from time to time.

1,3 and 8 for me.  Also, I just try to take one day at a time.  I quit tracking my labs a long time ago and stopped chasing the latest test tube cure.  With the exception of taking my meds daily, and going in for check-ups, I just try to exist as normally as I can. Might be apathy or indifference about my illness that has set in after all these years, but it is what gets me through the day.

hello;

for the ones that don't have much energy or ambition, i have suggestion.

go to gnc store, for example, and get a powder supplement that has LOADS of amino acids and some caffeine and some protein.
people with hiv and aids don't have certain amino acids in their body. so i use it with 1% milk and drink 1 serving per day as 2 servings might give you too much jitters and too hyper. i get moderate amount of energy back and if i drink it too late in the day, it will effect my sleep.

if you want to google amino acids and one of the url's lists all the amino acids and information about each one and how people with hiv are missing some.

if you have the money i'd suggest giving it a try and see if you get some energy back in your day. i buy the 1.2 pound plastic bag, personal reasons. it costs about $36 for the 1.2 pound bag.

my lack of energy might be multiple reasons. including the hiv meds.

if you want to share your feedback i'd like to read it.

regards,

Took me ages to reply to this thread.. The original post really only asked two questions, where do you get your money and what is your housing situation.

So those are the two questions about living with HIV I find the least interresting.
Here's the stuff that makes my life good and not so good.

The bad: depression and anxiety, chronic pain, erectile disfunction, being in a society with so many inequalities, stigma and  bigotry of all kinds.

The good: friends, playing softball, cycling, volunteering, dance lessons, music, Viagra, physiotherapy, hiking (just a little bit these days because of the back pain), my sisters, cognitive behavioral therapy, neuro-linguistic programming, counselling, gardening, people who combat stigma and or bigotry, people who care, people who create I could go on and on....

Hi all,
I guess for all the LTS that been around I was know as GLS(Godlostsoul). I stop for earthlink so lost my email address. I started coming here when it was just a dating site.  My brother and I must got around 1983, you know sex was ez back then. My like brother die Aug 1, 1987. It hit him fast and then he was gone. I pass out in 1982 and was taking to the hospital...my number was 3 and 480,000.

I like with my brother and his wife and my little girl 14. I work full time for now, I turn 55 Jan 20, so I fall under the 85 rule. Age plus year in company make 85. Yes I been at the same company for 35 years.

I don't get sad anymore, I think of being Poz as just another pill. I would like to meet more Poz people. I guess what keep me going all these years is I got two kids and I love playing Wow.(LOL)
