Foot fetish episode. Is this a risk ?
« on: April 08, 2013, 03:47:25 pm »
Good evening everyone,

I'm 25 years old, male etero sexual. I'm from Italy as you can guess from my nickname.
Well, I always use condom for anal and vaginal intercourse, so I have never been tested for HIV. I'm a bit afraid because of two sexual practices that I sometimes adopted in the past: performing unprotected connilingus on a girl and sliding my naked penis against her naked vagina.
Can I get HIV by these kind of behaviours ?
Does the answer to this question change if there is mestrual blood or the vagina is very wet ?
Do I need to test ?

Thanks in advance for your reply.
Kind regards.

I have read your concerns carefully and you didn't have a risk for HIV by rubbing , that isn't the way HIV is acquired .

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason, bodily fluids outside the body do not pose a risk and that means masturbation is not a risk for HIV infection , so rubbing or frottage isn't a risk for these reasons .

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

HIV transmission doesn't stand a chance of happening via female genitals to mouth - there are just too many obstacles on the oral route.

The first obstacle is the mouth itself. The mouth is a veritable fortress, standing against all sorts of pathogens we come into contact with every minute of our lives. It's a very hostile environment and saliva has been shown to contain over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage HIV , so you need not worry about preforming cunnilingus on a woman .

There is absolutely no reason to worry about HIV in the situations you described.

Cunnilingus is not an HIV risk, as the fluids you come into contact with are not infectious. In a female, the infectious fluids are much deeper in the vagina, in a thick mucous in the cervical area. You will absolutely not reach that with your mouth or fingers - and even if you did, saliva contains over a dozen identified elements that render HIV inert.

The other activity is frottage, which is safer sex.

If you wear a condom for penetrative anal and vaginal sex you will avoid HIV. It really is that simple.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

Good evening Guys,
Thank you very much for quick replies :) So I didn't have a risk of getting HIV with unprotected connilingus and frottage and I don't need a test, right ?
Do these two behaviours still remain absolutely safe EVEN with mestrual blood and vaginal fluids ?

Kind regards and thanks again for the service you provide.

Thank you very much for quick replies :) So I didn't have a risk of getting HIV with unprotected connilingus and frottage and I don't need a test, right ?

Guy,

You didn't have a risk and none of the details change that fact.

You do not need to test specifically over this incident.

HOWEVER, any sexually active adult should have a full sexual health check up at least once a year, or more often if you're very active. It's what responsible adults do to look after their health. It's no different to going to your dentist once or twice a year for a check-up.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY OVER CUNNILINGUS OR FROTTAGE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Hi all,

I'm quite worried about an encounter with a lady I had a couple of days ago.

During our encounter I performed several foot fetishes practices to her feet, to be precise here is what I did:

  • I touched her feet
  • I licked and sucked her feet
  • I kissed her feet
  • I massaged her feet

Is it possible to get the HIV infection in this way ? Should I be tested ?

My mind is going crazy by thinking of possible scenarios like cuts or scratches in her feet, cuts or sores on my lips or inside my mouth or on my tongue. I can't completely exclude any of these (I was unable to verify all these things before licking her feet) and this is why I'm anxious about this foot fetish episode.

Is this a risky situation for HIV ?

Thanks for helping.

Regards

Hiya

What you posted is no HIV risk whatsoever.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid HIV infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection going forward

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature

Kind regards

Jim

Hi and thanks for replying.

So, to summarize, there is absolutely no HIV risk in the practices that I listed above, even in the case of small cuts or sores ? Can I definitely move on and forget about this episode ?

If this was your only sexual activity then you had no HIV risk, relax and move on with your life.

Best, Jim

Yes, the only interactions between me and the lady were the foot fetish practices that I described above. So no risk at all and no need for further concerns. Thanks, you saved my day.

Kind regards

Hi and sorry for bother you again.

I'm quite worried about the foot fetish episode described in my last post.

Today, exactly 15 days later the episode, I don't feel very weel: I have fever and diarrhea and I feel myself weak.

Just to recap I'm a 31-year-old heterosexual man and I engaged in foot fetish activities with a woman of which I do not know the HIV status.

I had several contacts with her feet by using my tongue, my lips and my hands.
I licked and kissed her feet, sucked her toes and massaged her feet too.
These were the only sexual activities between me and the woman.

I don't know exactly, but it's possible that the woman engaged in similar activities with another guy something like ten minutes before me; I don't know whether this can change the risk assestment of my case.

My main concern is the possible contact between my mouth and the woman's blood, maybe due to cuts or sores on her feet (the ones you can get by shoes for instance).
Another concern is the possible presence on her feet of blood or semen coming from another guy.

Do you confirm that this specific foot fetish episode is NO risk for HIV and that testing over this specific episode is NOT needed, based on your knowledge and experience ?

Thanks a lot for helping and apologize for my anxiety.

Kind regards

Edit:

I re-read your posts.

Unless she was pissing blood out of her feet requiring urgent medical care you are worrying about nothing. What you posted is no HIV risk whatsoever.

Relax, move on with your life and if you can't I would recommend talking to a therapist to help you learn to cope with your thoughts as it's not much fun if you are going to stress over every single contact in life.

Hi and thanks for helping.

When you say "pissing out blood", you mean having deep bleeding cuts, the ones requiring stitches from a doctor, right ?

If this is what you mean, of course this wasn't the case for the lady's feet and as you said my anxiety is totally immotivated.

Thanks again.
