Worried Sick... Unprotected Oral Masturbation Blood Risk

I recently went on holiday to thailand when i got drunk and brought a bar girl back to my hotel. We started to have protected vaginal sex (me penetrating her from behind) when she suddenly stopped me. She reached down below and showed me her index finger with blood on it. The first thing i did was check the condom was intact (thankfully it was). She then dissapeared to the bathroom whilst i lay on the bed. when she came back i asked her to give me oral. I was fucking around trying to get a condom on and she stopped me saying 'don't worry i'm clean' stupid i know! But I let her continue to masturbate me and give me oral until I came. I then passed out pretty much. She left and when I woke in the morning I found pretty big blood marks on the sheets where she had bled. What do you think the risks are of transmission?? I wasn't worried at first and didn't think about it too much. About 2 weeks after this I came down with a mild fever and mild sore throat. I didn't think anything of this at the time but I've since learned (via the web) they can be early symptoms of seroconversion and I'm literally terrified. I'm thinking that the index finger with the blood on it would have come into contact with the glans on my (uncircumcised) penis whilst she masturbated me. I have no idea how much blood she got on her hands whilst she was in the bathroom or how well (or if) she washed her hands. I'm reading all sorts of worrying stuff about how the strain of hiv in thailand is more virulent and how if she had recently caught the disease she may have high viral loads which would significantly increase the chances of transmission. At no time were you ever at risk of contracting HIV from protected vaginal sex or getting your dick sucked with or without a condom.

Thanks for the swift reply... its a source of relief! Can you briefly explain why there would be no risk if there was a possibilty of infected blood getting in contact with the glans of penis?? Thanks for your advice. Its much appreciated!!

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect. For this reason you would not have been infected through any possible blood on her hand during masturbation, nor from the blood on the sheets.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER THIS NO RISK INCIDENT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks Ann and Rod your feedback is really appreciated! (and i know you must get fed up answering multiple variations on the same theme!).

Nevertheless its great to get advice from reliable sources rather than the paranoia which is induced by trawling the web.

I'm going to get tested anyway (i need to make sure i at least havent got any other std's).

I've learnt a valuable lesson here!... Never let anyone pull a condom off you and drink plus hookers don't mix!! Thanks again guys!

When you have your complete sexual health check-up, make a note of it so you remember to do it again this time next year (if not sooner). You should be having these check ups at least once a year.

Hi guys,

Just a quick update to let you know that I got a negative test today (94 days post 'exposure').

I know from what I have learnt on this forum that I wasn't at any practicable risk anyway. However. I wanted to post my feedback for others in a similar situation. I too trawled the internet looking for for reassurance that only fuels fears. Also if you spend 12 weeks looking for 'symptoms' of ars you will find them!
It is thanks to the sound advice of the doctor (when I went getting my std panel) telling me that I should come back for a test in 3 months as much for my own peace of mind than anything else; as well as the sound advice from the moderators on here that allowed me to keep a rational lid on my concerns.

For the future please remember not to mix excessive drinking with casual sex.

And always use a condom for vaginal or anal intercourse.
