The last American!!!
« on: March 19, 2008, 08:20:24 pm »
Well I have finally done it- I became the last American to get a cell phone, it even has a camera.  I am now in the 21st century...Well not really, this idiot p.c. still has windows 98 believe it or not and AOL won't even come up on it- they say my internet browser doesn't support it so next on the list is a new p.c.  This one is from early 2000 which now seems like B.C. already. ;)

Jody,

I remember when Ed and I purchased our first computer in 2000. ( we never thought we would do that.)

While everyone else had a cell phone, I said there is no way possible that I would get one, but finally back in ( I think ) 2003, I  got one of those go-phones ( pay as you go.) About the only time I use it, is when we are going on a trip somewhere. Most of the time it has the charger plugged into it.  :P
And mine doesn't even have a camera. Last week, I wanted to purchase a new battery for the phone, and they wanted to sell me a new phone. I said "no thanks, just the battery please. There's nothing wrong with this old phone. It works when is supposed to !  :) Isn't technology wonderful !! I still remember those big ole bulky cell phones from the old days ! LOL ---Maxwell Smart--phone in a shoe !

But they do come in handy at times....

Take care------Ray

Jody, I don't have a cell phone.  So you aren't the last American to purchase one, trust.  I will be whenever I decide to get one.

Jody,

Please post your cell phone number so that we may all text message you congratulations  ;D

BTW with the planned computer, If money is a problem, I really suggest something like  the ones listed in the linked reviews.  They are already far advanced in memory and video cards than a 2000 model and are a bargain.

Jody Dear,

You can add me to the list of Americans without a cell phone.  Some service providers do not offer service in West Sonoma County, where I live, some do not provide service in Guerneville, which is where I shop, and practically none offer service in Cazadero, where I spend a lot of time.  Finding pay phones has become a challenge in itself.  Oh well such is life on te Russian River.   ;D Have the best day
Michael
