Title: oral sex again
Post by: aldo on December 12, 2006, 12:38:48 pm
Hello, thank you very much for the site and please forgive my primary English

I am in confusion about cunnilingus. Two months ago I had oral and fingering sex with a sex worker. Four days later I began to have rash, fever (few) and then swollen glands (also not a lot). Nowadays, two months later I still have rash.

I also thought about HIV and I phoned to the Aids information telephone number of my country (Spain). I was told that no risk with fingering, but cunnilingus is a risky activity over all for active partner. Then I discovered your site (thanks for the Spanish translation) and I read that is a "theoretical risk", but at the forum I can read a lot of sentences as “You don't need to test for the cunnilingus. Going down on a woman is not a risk for hiv infection.”

So, right now I do not know if I need the test after 13 weeks

Regards,

No you don't need to test for going down on a woman.

"Theoretical" means just that. It could happen in theory but in the real world of HIV transmission doesn't happen via cunnilingus.

Your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV. If they persist you should discuss them wit your doctor.

Just make sure that if and when you have intercourse, whether with a professional or a civilian that you always, ALWAYS wear a latex condom. No exceptions.

Happily, this is not an HIV situation.

Cheers,

Thank you RapidRod and Andy,

Weeks ago I was very worried because the person of the official information telephone told me that contacting the mucous of vagina or penis is enough for hiv infection. (Are they interested in create scare?)

On the other hand I always use condom in intercourse.

Anyway I think I got another kind of infection, an ordinary blood test said that I have (or had) a small liver inflammation, next week I have a new test for hepatic illness.

best regards,

aldo

It's always good to check out symptoms if they are persistent, Aldo.

You definitely can't get HIV from getting a blow job. But other STDs are easier to acquire so it's always good to regularly get a full STD panel if you are sexually active.

Also, please read our lesson on transmssion if you haven't already done so. There's a link to it in the WELCOME thread which opens this section.

Cheers,

Thank you again Andy,

I read the lessons, I only was worried with this sentence "there have been case reports highlighting one case of female-to-female transmission of HIV via cunnilingus and another case of female-to-male transmission of HIV via cunnilingus. Both of these cases involved transmission from receptive partner (the one receiving oral sex) to the insertive partner (the one performing oral sex)."

It is just one case but... the mind thinks the worst

best regards,
Aldo
