Truvada and heat
« on: August 31, 2018, 10:25:23 am »
Hi everyone

I had a question about my Prep medication (truvada). I recently went on vacation and one of the days I knew I was going to be out all day so I brought my bottle of medication with me. I was out all day in the heat and sun, was probably in the low 90s the majority of the time. After a few hours I started to worry so I bought some cold bottles of water and put them in my bag where my medication was...prolly made it worse by doing that. Anyway I wanted to know if my medication is good or if the potency has been effected due to the heat/Moisture. Does anyone have any thought on this? Should I go and try and get a new prescription?

Again is was pretty hot all day and was out in the sun

Thanks

They are stored in the original packaging?

If so your fine, next time no need to panic about the heat.  If you want reassurance though talk to your doctor.
