condom broke down with prostitute

It's know that there exist only a theoretical change to get a hiv infection from a blow job as a receiving partner. Question which is driving my crazy is following: what are the probabilites to get a hiv from a blow job when girl is giving oral sex to many guys kind of same (only one penis in mouth at the same time though). It is sure possible that the girl can carry semen fluids (precum) in her mouth to the penis of other guys. I was yeasterday in a sexclub and had such an accident. I let this happen like for 2minutes before realizing how fucking stupid I was. What can I do? Those PPP-medications are probably not needed?

Mixu,

Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection not even if the giver has given blowjobs to other guys just before you. Period, end of story. Not one person has EVER become infected with hiv in this way and you certainly won't be the first.

And NO, you absolutely do NOT need PEP!

Along with reading the Transmission Lesson found in the Welcome Thread, here's what else you need to know about hiv transmission and prevention:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you do NOT need to test over this specific incident, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a single documented case of transmission to a guy from getting a blowjob. Not one. And believe me we have heard all kinds of variations with individuals, group scenes, nicks, cuts and bruises on penises and much more.

It's safe to say you aren't going to make history by becoming the first. I don't see any need for HIV testing in relation to this incident. And certainly not for instituting PEP, which is what I think you referred to. That is something which is done when there is medically related work exposure or when there has been unprotected intercourse. In any case it's totally irrelevant in relation to your situation.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

I'm refering to this article

All this notwithstanding, it is still possible that someone's penis might be exposed to blood or other HIV-infected fluids during a blow job. This might occur if someone has an abrasion or scrape in his mouth which might bleed or if for example, during multiple-partner sex (group sex), he carries in his mouth the remnants of another person's penile fluids or blood from one blow job to the next.

Sorry to say that you guys are making the picture a bit more beautiful that itīs really is. If someone is giving a BJ to many individuals at the same time there exist a risk of getting semen fluids on your penis.Perioid.

It would help if you find detailed reports and studies that are more recent than July 19, 1996. We've came a long ways since that time. The information given on this website are from current and up to date studies. I would suggest that when you trolle the web you look for more up to date articles.

Mix, lots of things are "theoretically" possible in terms of transmission. And believe me, if you search the net you will find lots of (mis)information to feed any fears you may have.

Such as what you've selected to quote in your dated article.

But I repeat, in the real world of HIV science there has never been a single documented case of HIV transmission to a guy getting a blowjob. Not one.

Thanks for your replies,

The fact that the article is a bit older one, shouldnt change the potential hiv risk, when someone is giving a BJ to many people at the same time. Mouth might be full of penile fluids especially in big group sex situations. You get this same information if you ask it from any healthcare professional. I just asked that from a highly educated MD, specialist in infection diseases. Perioid. It s rare that true, but very well possible.

Mixu,

If you already had your mind made up, why bother coming here to ask?

Our knowledge of hiv transmission has come a LONG way since 1996. We now know that getting a blowjob, no matter what sort of spin you can think of to put on it, is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Nobody has ever been infected this way and you aren't going to make history by being the first.

If you don't believe us, go test and collect your negative result. Simple as that. If you're a sexually active adult, you should be testing for hiv and all the other STIs at least once a year anyway.

And by the way, if it becomes clear that you are only here for argument's sake, you will quickly find yourself unable to post.

Hi!

I don't even know why I'm writing on this forum, because I assume that nothing can anymore be done and ultimately it's only you with whom you have to live with the possible infection. I just cant sleep, shaking all days and feeling like jumping out of window. I am sitting at the airport on my way back to home from prague. My story: I took a couple of too many beers and ended up in one sexclub in the big "sexstreet" in Prague. Feeling a bit lonely after being a single again, I took a girl but unfortunately condom broke down. This was basicly my first time with prostitute and got immeaditely punished. The condom did no broke totally but still the head of my penis was unprotected at least for one minute. When I noticed, I pulled out, went to pee and washed. All thing which are merely psychological. This happended on Sat monrning (now it's Wed evening). I called on Sat to MD in my homecountry(specialist in infectious diseases) and she told me that i were home they might start pep-medication. I went to two er and met to doctors in Prague (terrible places: inpolite, not interested in you, almost no information about PEP etc.). Nobody spoke decent english and their opinion was that the side-effects of pep are higher than my risk. Might very well statisdtically be so, but still...I cannot forgive myself if I am infected that I did not demand those medications more strongly. Read couple of evidence based medicine -articles and my meta-analyse from those where that when the infection status of your partner is not known, pep is not usually recommended. I am so depressed and I know that I can not live my life I have caught hiv... I just read also that in some cases PEP-medication have been started after 72 hours, does anyone know about that??? Okey side-effects of course, but if it does not kill you, why not to try? Probably it would be very ineffective after so long time, but still, if I could lower my risk even a slight it might calm me down a bit.

Have anyone information about the situation in Prague? All the people say the the risk is very minimal in my case, but still only in this year there were over 65 000 new infections in Europe, so not all of them are from Thailand or Russia. Do you personally know anyone how would have got the infection this way? Because I dont believe that all infections in heterosex come only for guys not wearing condom at all. Fuck I was so stupid..so stupid...I cannot talk about this to anyone, no one of my College friends would never understand this thing with prostitute and my mom would definitely to a heartattack....

Mix,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

You do not need PEP. I've yet to see the insertive partner become infected following a condom break and I don't expect you to be the first. You would be wise to test at three months, but I fully expect you to test negative.

And by the way, you can drop the drama right now. Do you have any idea how insulting it is to read how you think you're being punished with hiv? Hiv is not a punishment - it's an illness. It's nothing to jump out of a window over. If you're truly feeling suicidal, go tell someone in the Emergency Room of the hospital nearest you. We cannot help you with your suicidal feelings here.

Dear Ann,

thank you for your fast reply. I am very sorry if insulted you or anyone who's positive. It truly was not my intention and I am really sorry about that. I'm so just so alone with this problem and never had felt so bad. I dont wanna meet anybody, just wanna be alone, which is probably not so healthy. I have noticed that my thinking is getting more and more desperate by every hour. I m gonna go tomorrow to doctor and ask some sleeping pills at the same visit when going to get vaccination against B-Hepatitis.

Nice to hear that you consider my risk low, even though I had unprotected vaginalsex with a prostitute in Eastern Europe. Is there really such a big difference to have unprotected sex or to have "condom broke" sex? I am asking because this sounds a bit odd bearing in mind that you have probably heard huge amount of cases, whic have led to positive result.

By the way, I know that my mind wont last the 3months perioid and I wanna ask your opinion about PCR-test? I have heard that they are realy reliable already after 2-3 weeks, i.e already before antigenes are detectable in the blood.

Yours,
M
