Generalised lymphodenopathy
« on: December 07, 2012, 07:50:38 am »
Hy people, first of all i want to thank you all for this forum, which is really helpful.

To make a long story short, i am terrified. I had a low risk encounter with a sex worker 5 and a half years ago, and got tested at the 7 week mark. This was a HIV duo test and it came back negative. I was told that the test is conclusive. However now i am having all this nodes on my body. No other symptom do.
I have nodes in my armpits, across my abdomen, inner thighs, bicepse.

I am a wreck, since i just found out my wife is pregnant. Now i am constantly poking my self, i dont eat, i am a wreck.

So my question is: Does generalised Lymphadenopathy occurs like this, and i have it for 5 years now, since i could feal most of this nodes even then, when i went for the test. I had a sore throath back then to, lasted for a month and a half, and a diarrhea for a week. Is this common in HIV? Are this lymph nodes i can feel? Cause i am really sure they are.

Thanks people.

You didn't have a low risk you didn't have a risk at all.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child

You should be discussing your nodes with your doctor. HIV is not your problem. Fingering is absolutely not a risk for HIV.You had protected intercourse. No risk. No risk. No risk.

Stop making yourself crazy about HIV. You're HIV negative. Get on with your life. Really.

Saj,

It doesn't matter how much you bite or chew your fingers. Fingering is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Not one person has EVER been infected through fingering and you are not going to be the first.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. It has NOTHING to do with hiv.
