My Story - Really Worried
« on: January 13, 2013, 12:36:20 pm »
Hi I am hoping someone can give me a rough idea of what my chances of having HIV are. I am a white teen 19 years of age (18 at the time) and I am uncircumcised.

In summer 2012 me and 5 of my friends when on a lads holiday to Spain. I was 18 at the time (now 19). One of my friends found a brothel and 4 of them went in except me and my other friend, however halfway through the holiday I ended up going in because my friends where saying stop being scared etc. The woman I slept with was from Africa and the brothel was all Black/Asian people so it's probably immigrant workers which makes me all the more scared of HIV transmission. I am not the type of person that would go to brothels/prostitutes it was just drunken madness on a lads holiday that has left me scared for my life.

Beforehand I shaved my pubes (above penis) and brushed my teeth vigorously (planning to pull a few girls rather than visiting a brothel, EXTREMELY BAD IDEA).

I went I had a condom which I bought from a pub I was in from the vending machine where you insert money, the brand of the condom was "latexin" if I can remember and I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Now I was very drunk and I couldn't get an erection so she gave me oral sex (and I think I had the condom on my flaccid penis while doing so, could that cause problems with the condom?

Once I got hard I had protected vaginal sex with her with me being on top and on bottom. I also have this gut feeling that I gave her cunnilingus as well but I was really drunk and can't really remember the whole scenario its all coming to me bit by bit. I don't remember having any oral problems afterwards.

So this happened roughly 7 months ago and now I am starting to have some symptoms which I am unable to find out. I have went for an STD test and should have my results within 4 days (including HIV test)

I have had a body itch, usually just my legs ever since it happened. The symptoms below have just recently came on me which resulted in me going to get checked.

Pain around the groin, leg muscle twitching, random spots near follicles and tiny spots that looking like burst blood vessels but they are really small, weird feeling in penis and yesterday I noticed a red spot on my foreskin about 15mm from the opening of the penis.

I am really worried and I just want some help on what my overall chances of catching HIV1/HIV2 are, and if my symptoms aren't HIV then what are they? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

You used a latex condom for penetrative sex. That's the only pertinent portion of your story.

That means you were protected against HIV.

I don't even have the energy to go into the fallacious notion of black/Asian/immigrant workers at a brothel and any association with the likelihood of HIV infection. I hope you don't perpetuate this casually racist fiction, but I just don't have it in me to tackle that today.

Suffice it to say that you categorically do NOT get HIV from protected sex, or cunnilingus. You can trust me. I'm a white guy.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
