« on: July 09, 2007, 02:48:45 pm »

My x says he tested negative in Miami with ora quick which i dont know if i should believe him. i think he would tell me anything to get me to shut up about it.so im gonna retest soon although the health dept says just come back in sept just to make sure but they think im fine. i have a primary care physican who has checked my nodes twice over a 6 week period and he says i dont have hiv and 6 weeks was enough. he went as far as to tell me to go home and have unprotected sex with my husband. and he also states he knows more than Mass. dept of health . gosh i sure hope i dont end up positive and have infected my children or husband ... im thinking lawsuit

You must be living in a mental hell posting on two forums. Even if you were positive your children wouldn't be at risk. You've been told to wait till 12/13 weeks to get your conclusive test. I don't think sueing would do any good even if you were positive. It's your responsibility to take care of your health.

Lady,

As the vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, it is highly  unlikely your results are going to change.

As it has been fourteen weeks since your incident, you can test now for a conclusive result. You don't have to wait until September.

Go test at your earliest convenience and collect what I fully expect to be another negative result.

Please learn from this experience and use condoms with anyone you can't be 100% sure of their hiv status - and that includes your current partner. Unless you've tested negative together you should be using condoms.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

I'm fully expecting your conclusive test to be negative and so should you.

Lady,

Make sure you read our Welcome Thread and along with following the Transmission Lesson link, read and take heed of our forum posting guidelines. I don't want to see you posting advice in another person's thread again, ok?

Thank you for your cooperation.

Lady,

Ringworm is a common fungal infection and has nothing to do with hiv. Anyone can get ringworm. You need to have a doctor look at whatever is on your back. We cannot diagnose it and neither can you.

Go test and collect what I fully expect to be another negative result.

lady,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. You've already been asked to do this! Thank you for your cooperation.

We've already given you the information you need. Now it's up to you to see your doctor about the rash and to get your conclusive hiv test. I fully expect you to collect another negative, but the ONLY way to know is to test. Go do it.
