Hello,
A couple of days ago I performed unprotected fellatio. I do not know the HIV status of the man I performed on. Although he did not ejaculate in my mouth, I was probably exposed to pre-cum. I have never given a blowjob before and am extremely worried that I could have gotten infected. I do get mouth ulcers from time to time and my oral health isn't the best. Should I schedule an HIV test for this situation?

I don't recommend testing for giving or receiving head.

Thanks for the reply. I know giving a blowjob is at the bottom of the risk. I was just worried because I read that bad oral health could lead to a possible infection.

I agree with Rod. There is much more evidence through longterm studies that giving oral is not a risk as contrasted with a very few not quite confirmed cases of transmission reported as having occured orally.

Especially if you are new to giving oral specifically and male-to-male sexuality in general, along with excitement often comes a lot of anxiety. Go at a pace that is comfortable for you. Most importantly, if you decide to get into anal (or vaginal) intercourse, make sure that whoever is the insertive partner is always wearing a latex condom.
This time out I don't see cause for concern about HIV.

I do have a couple of questions, though.
I have done a lot of sexual experimenting. I've tried the male-to-male thing which I described earlier. I have also visited a few massage parlors (in Hawaii) this year. I have had sex with about 10-13 different women at these places. Each of my massage parlor encounters included protected vaginal sex as well as unprotected frottage, fellatio and cunnilingus. I am very relieved that I decided to use a condom for vaginal sex. Should I be worried about these encounters? Do you think HIV testing is warranted for these encounters or should I just take a panel test instead?

While nothing you report leads me to believe you'd test anything other than hiv negative, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.
If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.
