Hi Chris. I removed your post from a three year-old thread and created a new thread with it. You'll get more responses this way.

Truvada is always the same dosage as it comes in one formulation only. It's one pill taken once a day. Truvada = 300mg of Viread (tenofovir) + 200mg of Emtriva (emtricitabine).

The Isentress dose is one 400mg tablet taken twice a day.

I have never heard of the starting doses of Truvada + Isentress being any different to the dosages used going forward.

I hope you can get to the bottom of what's going on soon. Is there anyway you can change doctors? It's frustrating when your doctor does not appear to care about you.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Just the fact that you feel your doctor doesn't care is enough to suggest that perhaps it's time to seek alternative care.  It's becoming my MO to scream it often.  I look back in astonishment that I survived so long with an idiot doctor.  Being your best advocate dictates that you have a doctor that you feel is competent and addresses your concerns.

I take this same combo, with intellence added in because of resistance issues.  Perhaps it's because of the horrid previous "cocktails", but I'm am truly grateful for this one.

Take care and best wishes

I hope you both are doing well. Keep a close watch on your Creatinine level which should be 1.5 or less in a man. I have permanent kidney damage from Tenofavir, which is in Truvada. I've been off of it for 2 years and my Creatinine level will never go back down to 1.5 or less. Best wishes.
