Seventeen years ago

Seventeen years ago just about this same hour; 1.00pm , I was in the kitchen along with my   boyfriends mother, trying to convince the on-call doctor to help expedite my dying boyfriend's imminent death.
He listened to our plea, and made us swear that this has to remain between the three of us. He then left...off to the pharmacy to get the "stuff".
He was gone for what seemed like hours and we started thinking that he had left us hanging. But he returned asking for something strong to drink because it was his "first".
The tension and agony was indescribable.

By 5:00pm it was all over.

(Pardon me, but I have to write this down because from time to time what we did back then still comes back to haunt me....especially on the anniversary of his death)
