Title: HIV care in Las Vegas/Henderson area
Post by: nightnday on January 18, 2023, 04:10:10 pm
Hi
I’m getting a lot of great info and recommendations on this forum and really appreciate how everyone is helping each other.  I’m a long time survivor in NYC.
I’m planning to move and would like to get some info on HIV doctors and care in Vegas/Henderson area. How is it over there in terms of hospitals, clinics, and doctors?
Anyone who has moved to Vegas/Henderson in recent years, I’d appreciate any info or input. Thank you.

I don't have an answer for you, the only HIV clinic I've been to within the US was in Reno, but I wanted to welcome you to the forum and I hope you get the answer you are looking for and that the move goes well.

I relocated at the end of April from Las Vegas to Philadelphia.  When living in Las Vegas, I was going to a clinic run by an APRN.  They have a lot of HIV+ patients as well as patients on PREP.  Here is a link to the website:  https://www.huntridgefamilyclinic.org/ (https://www.huntridgefamilyclinic.org/)

The website states they don't accept HMO Medicare Advantage plans, but you could double check that with them.  I was using an ACA plan, then original Medicare.

I hope you've been to Vegas in the summer.  It's really hot and getting hotter and dryer, which is one of the reasons I left.

Thank you for the info you provided for me, Mitch.
I really appreciate it.
Yes, I have been to Vegas during the summer, I know it’s no joke!
I can’t get Medicare yet so I would have to buy an insurance or get employed
by a company that offers insurance benefit.
I will check with the medical facility you showed me. Thanks again.
