HIV risk from anal rubbing
« on: December 05, 2023, 07:25:00 pm »
Hi there. I’ve read many posts here where you’ve stated that anal rubbing / frottage does not pose a risk for HIV. However, I don’t know if the same applies to my case. This guy was rubbing his penis on my anal hole short of like fucking, applying pressure. There was no penetration but I am worried whether the tip of his penis actually managed to get inside my anus. I haven’t engaged in intercourse for three years now and I am very tight in general but I cannot be sure. Do you think that in this particular case there is a risk for HIV?

This is a contradiction.

So you have to tell us. We were not there, and if the tip of his penis was inside you, it's not anal rubbing/frottage and has moved onto something else that is an HIV risk.

Sorry. There was no penetration. I am worrying whether he could just by rubbing his penis on my hole actually touch the inside of my hole. In other words whether rubbing penis hard against an anus can actually do this. I don’t know if I am making sense, apologies

Rubbing his penis against your hole, hard or otherwise, isn't going to be an HIV risk. Penetration is the HIV concern in this scenario; no penetration, no risk.

Anyhow, if you don't know for 100% sure, then being safe on the topic, I will presume condomless intercourse (penetration) did occur and recommend testing.

To confirm your HIV status, test at six weeks post potential exposure with a blood-draw (lab) HIV antibody test. The result at this time will rarely change, and retesting at three months is generally not needed.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

Kind regards

Jim

Hi again. I can’t thank you enough for your answers, not just to me but in general. You are doing an amazing job.
I just had a 4th gen Ag/Ab test that came negative. My exposure was on the night of 29/11 and had the test done today. Should I consider it conclusive ? Technically it’s 6 weeks minus 2 days, but I keep seeing different information everywhere and don’t know what to expect. Thanks in advance for your answer.

You had no HIV exposure.

You had no HIV exposure; it was conclusive without testing over the incident posted here, not going to pretend otherwise.

Move on with your life, use condoms, consider PrEP, and as you are sexually active, get a routine STI & HIV screening yearly.
